Use of Voice-Assisted Technology to Enhance the Home Health Care Patient Experience.

One of the greatest challenges for older, homebound patients receiving health care is accessibility, particularly following a hospitalization. The current study evaluates the effects of using voice-activated technology in the homes of recently discharged patients and its effects on health care outcomes. Voice-based software was embedded in a smart device, which allowed patients to ask questions and receive answers about their own specific care plan.
