Article Synopsis
  • * Out of 31 patients, 55% showed a significant drop in tumor activity (major pathologic response), along with increased immune cell presence in the tumors.
  • * Findings indicate that this combination therapy not only activates various immune responses but is also linked to specific genetic markers in immune cells and changes in gut microbiota, suggesting potential pathways for enhancing treatment outcomes.

Background: New highly effective drugs for moderate-to-severe cutaneous psoriasis are regularly marketed, and the hierarchy of treatments thus requires frequent review.

Article Synopsis
  • Sézary syndrome is a rare and deadly skin cancer, and this study looked into the survival rates and factors affecting outcomes, particularly focusing on the treatment mogamulizumab.
  • *The research analyzed data from 339 patients diagnosed between 2000 and 2020 across Europe, highlighting that age over 80 and large-cell transformation worsened survival rates.
  • *Results indicated that patients treated with mogamulizumab had significantly lower mortality rates, suggesting it is an effective treatment option for Sézary syndrome.

Background: Primary cutaneous lymphomas (PCLs) are a heterogeneous group of T-cell (CTCL) and B-cell (CBCL) malignancies. Little is known about their epidemiology at initial presentation in Europe and about potential changes over time.

Objectives: The aim of this retrospective study was to analyse the frequency of PCLs in the French Cutaneous Lymphoma Registry (GFELC) and to describe the demography of patients.

Article Synopsis
  • Advanced-stage cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) needs better treatment options, as current therapies like mogamulizumab and brentuximab vedotin show promise but aren't enough.
  • Scientists found that a protein called ICOS is strongly present in cancerous T-cells from patients with CTCL, which makes it a good target for new treatments.
  • They tested new medicine that attacks ICOS and found it works well in lab tests and could be better than existing treatments, so they plan to test it in clinical trials.

A Nodular Pink Lesion with an Uncommon Diagnosis: A QuizMost melanomas are diagnosed by the patients themselves or by their partners or relatives; they alone can describe its history. We designed a prospective cross-sectional study to describe patients' perception of morphology, growth pattern and kinetics of their primary melanoma over 1 mm in thickness before resection. Patients were interviewed with a questionnaire, a grid representing 9 possible scenarios of melanoma growth, and a set of 87 photographs of potential aspects of melanomas and precursors.
