Importance: In-office suprachoroidal viscopexy (SCVEXY) is a minimally invasive technique for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) repair that can be performed with no incision, no tamponade agent, and no positioning requirements. This technique has the potential to be a step forward in the armamentarium to treat RRDs.
Objective: To describe in-office SCVEXY for RRD repair.
Importance: The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) indicated that urgent or emergent vitreoretinal surgical procedures should continue during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Although decreases in the frequency of critical procedures have been reported outside the field of ophthalmology, analyses are limited by volume, geography, and time.
Objective: To evaluate whether the frequency of ophthalmic surgical procedures deemed urgent or emergent by the AAO changed across the United States during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rationale: Granulomatous-lymphocytic interstitial lung disease (GLILD) has emerged as a major cause of morbidity in patients with common variable immunodeficiency (CVID). While GLILD is among the most serious noninfectious pulmonary complications of CVID, risk factors for this condition have not been reported.
Objectives: To identify clinical, physiologic, and serologic risk factors for GLILD in adults with CVID.
Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is a common pulmonary manifestation of rheumatoid arthritis. There is lack of clarity around predictors of mortality and disease behaviour over time in these patients. We identified rheumatoid arthritis-related interstitial lung disease (RA-ILD) patients evaluated at National Jewish Health (Denver, CO, USA) from 1995 to 2013 whose baseline high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) scans showed either a nonspecific interstitial pneumonia (NSIP) or a "definite" or "possible" usual interstitial pneumonia (UIP) pattern.
