Background And Study Aims: Gastroparesis is a well-known consequence of long-standing diabetes that presents with gastric dysmotility in the absence of gastric outlet obstruction. This study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic effects of mosapride and levosulpiride on improving gastric emptying in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) while regulating glycemic levels.
Material And Methods: Rats were divided into the normal control, untreated diabetic, metformin-treated (100 mg/kg/day), mosapride-treated (3 mg/kg/day), levosulpiride-treated (5 mg/kg/day), metformin (100 mg/kg/day) + mosapride (3 mg/kg/day)-treated, and metformin (100 mg/kg/day) + levosulpiride (5 mg/kg/day)-treated diabetic groups.
Aims: Cardiac affection is common in diabetic patients. Although insulin exerts a cardioprotective role, it may not be enough to totally prevent this affection. The current study aimed to compare the cardioprotective effect of insulin alone or combined with sitagliptin in a rat model of type 1 diabetes mellitus.

Methods: Forty adult male Sprague Dawley albino rats were used in the study.
Objectives: The memory protective role of simvastatin and/or insulin, in a rat model of diabetes mellitus (DM) and dementia was examined.
Methods: DM was induced by an intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin. Diabetic rats were divided into untreated; insulin treated; simvastatin treated with 10 and 20 mg/kg/day; and combined insulin plus simvastatin treatment in the previous doses.

Objective: Preeclampsia represents a major complication of pregnancy, associated with greater maternal and fetal complications. We compared the effects of esomeprazole (a proton pump inhibitor) and magnesium sulfate (MgSO4) on the deleterious effects observed on the mother and neonates in experimentally induced preeclampsia in rats.
Study Design: Preeclampsia was induced in pregnant rats with NG-nitro-l-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME) starting from day 10-till end of pregnancy.
Background: Xanthine oxidase has been implicated in the pathogenesis of a wide spectrum of diseases, and is thought to be the most important source of oxygen-free radicals and cell damage during re-oxygenation of hypoxic tissues.
Aims: The present study was undertaken to demonstrate whether febuxostat is superior to allopurinol in prevention of the local and remote harmful effects of small intestinal ischemia/reperfusion injury in rats.
Methods: Intestinal ischemia was induced by superior mesenteric artery ligation.

Topiramate currently approved for marketing as antiepileptic drug also possesses anti-diabetic activity. The aim of this study was to determine the antidiabetic effect of topiramate in a rat model of diabetes mellitus. Diabetes was induced by a single injection of streptozotocin to fasted rats.

Cirrhosis produces hepatocellular dysfunction, which is also a risk factor for hepatocellular carcinoma. We studied verapamil as a prophylactic, therapeutic antifibrotic drug alone and in combination with silymarin in experimental rat's liver-induced fibrosis.
