Introduction: Effective treatment of bloodstream infections (BSIs) is relying on rapid identification of the causing pathogen and its antibiotic susceptibility. Still, most commercially available antibiotic susceptibility testing (AST) methods are based on monitoring bacterial growth, thus impacting the time to results.
