A 60-year-old, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-negative, homosexual male presented to our colorectal clinic with abdominal pain for three weeks followed by persistent watery diarrhea refractory to loperamide. He had no history of recent travel, no known infectious contacts, and his last colonoscopy nine years prior was within normal limits. After one episode of hematochezia, computed tomography of the abdomen/pelvis was performed demonstrating colitis and coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-related changes to the lung bases.

Increased mitotic rate, as well as lymph node involvement, portend a worse prognosis in leiomyosarcomas. They can arise anywhere along the GI tract, but anal canal occurrence is extremely rare.

The aim of this study was to determine the alcohol brand preferences among underage drinkers in different demographic categories.
Method: We administered an online survey to a national sample of 1,031 underage youth, ages 13-20, who had consumed at least one drink of alcohol in the past 30 days.
Objective: The study investigated the association between implementation of a brief critical time intervention (BCTI) model and occurrence of early and long-term psychiatric readmission of adults with serious mental illness.
Methods: A sample of 149 adults with a psychiatric inpatient readmission within 30 days of a prior psychiatric hospitalization was referred to an acute level of service coordination (ASC) available at six provider organizations implementing BCTI. Activities important to the delivery of BCTI were monitored and supported.
Background: Although the number of physicians credentialed to prescribe buprenorphine has increased over time, many credentialed physicians may be reluctant to treat individuals with opioid use disorders due to discomfort with prescribing buprenorphine. Although prescribing physicians are required to complete a training course, many have questions about buprenorphine and treatment guidelines have not been updated to reflect clinical experience in recent years. We report on an expert panel process to update and expand buprenorphine guidelines.

The sample included 195 individuals who received care from a large psychiatric specialty hospital. Eighty-seven individuals were assigned to receive the intervention, while 108 individuals were assigned to the control group.

Purpose: To determine if Medicaid-enrolled youth with depressive symptoms receive adequate acute treatment, and to identify the characteristics of those receiving inadequate treatment.
Methods: We used administrative claims data from a Medicaid-enrolled population in a large urban community to identify youth aged 6-24 years who started a new episode of treatment for a depressive disorder between August 2006 and February 2010. We examined rates and predictors of minimally adequate psychotherapy (four visits in first 12 weeks) and pharmacotherapy (filled antidepressant prescription for 84 of the first 144 days) among youth with a new treatment episode during the study period (n = 930).
Objective: To determine if there is a significant difference in outcomes of clinical trials funded by industry or not of antimuscarinic medications used to treat overactive bladder (OAB) symptoms and detrusor overactivity (DOA).
Methods: A Medline search was conducted from January 1966 to June 2003 to identify human clinical trials of oxybutynin and tolterodine published in English. Randomized controlled trials on subjects aged > or = 16 years who were being treated with oxybutynin or tolterodine for OAB symptoms or DOA; 24 studies were identified.
