Listeria adhesion protein (LAP) is an important adhesion factor in Listeria monocytogenes and interacts with its cognate receptor, mammalian heat shock protein 60 (Hsp60). The genetic identity of LAP was determined to be alcohol acetaldehyde dehydrogenase (Aad).
