Aims Of The Study: To assess the prescribing patterns of medications associated with geriatric syndromes (MAGS) in older adult patients with multiple comorbidities and to identify factors that may increase the risk of MAGS prescribing in the same population.

Methodology: This study involved a retrospective analysis of the electronic medical records of older adult patients (≥ 65 years) who visited outpatient clinics at King Abdullah University Hospital (KAUH) in Jordan between January 1, 2019, and June 1, 2024. The collected data included patient demographics, medical history, and medications, focusing on those associated with geriatric syndromes.

Exploring public perception and utilization of medication home delivery services in the United Arab Emirates: a cross-sectional study.

Introduction: The Medication Home Delivery (MHD) service from community pharmacies involves the safe and efficient delivery of pharmaceuticals (prescription and non-prescription medications), and health products directly to the patient's/consumer's home. There are several issues encountered by the users of the MHD service that have an impact on their satisfaction with the service. The study aimed to assess the public's perceptions of the MHD service in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), their willingness to utilize it, and the practical use of the service.

The use of electronic cigarettes (ECIGs) has grown exponentially among young adolescents. Tobacco smoking, in general and ECIG use in particular, has been linked to disruption of the oxidative system, resulting in organ damage. The current investigation intends to evaluate if orally administered Vitamin E (VitE) can protect from learning and cognitive impairment induced by ECIG aerosol exposure in a rat model.

Test anxiety is a widespread problem among university students, with negative consequences for their social, physical, and academic well-being. Therefore, students may engage in activities that might alleviate anxiety symptoms, including taking medication. Cone beam computed tomography changes upon oral appliance therapy for adult patients with obstructive sleep apnea: A non-randomized clinical trial.

Background: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is caused by narrowing or obstruction of the airway lumen at single or multiple levels of the airway, starting from the nasal cavity up to the larynx. Oral appliance therapy for the management of OSA is prescribed as an alternative treatment option for patients with mild to moderate OSA who fail to adhere to Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) therapy. Treatment with oral appliances addresses the craniofacial deficiencies that cause OSA by providing means to mandibular advancement and palatal expansion, thus opening the airways and potentially preventing airway collapse during sleep.

Determinants of poor health-related quality of life among outpatients with rheumatoid arthritis in Jordan.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to assess the health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and investigate the variables contributing to reduced HRQOL in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

Methods: The present cross-sectional study was conducted on patients diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at two teaching hospitals in Jordan using a convenience sampling technique. The participants were interviewed face-to-face during the scheduled appointment at the outpatient rheumatology clinic.

Background: The current study sets out to develop and validate a robust machine-learning model utilizing electronic health records (EHR) to forecast the risk of hypoglycemia among ICU patients in Jordan.

Research Design And Methods: The present study drew upon a substantial cohort of 13,567 patients admitted 26,248 times to the intensive care unit (ICU) over 10 years from July 2012 to July 2022. The primary outcome of interest was the occurrence of any hypoglycemic episode during the patient's ICU stay.

Exploring pharmacists' attitude, willingness and barriers to provide extended community pharmacy services: Implications for improved pharmacy services.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate pharmacists' attitude and willingness to provide extended community pharmacy services (ECPS), the barriers to ECPS, and the factors associated with attitude and willingness to implement ECPS.

Methods: In this cross-sectional study, a validated, self-administered questionnaire was distributed online to community pharmacists across the United Arab Emirates between September and November 2023. In addition to sociodemographic data, the questionnaire evaluated attitudes toward ECPS, willingness to provide ECPS, and barriers to its implementation.

Background: The prevalence of type 2 diabetes (DM) has been increasing globally, particularly among older adults who are more susceptible to DM-related complications. Evaluation of Novel HLM Peptide Activity and Toxicity against Planktonic and Biofilm Bacteria: Comparison to Standard Antibiotics.
