Despite the best standard therapies, GBM survivors have a brief survival time, about 24 months on average. The treatment is troublesome because the cancer cells may not respond well to specific therapies as they grow within an extensive network of blood vessels.

Mitochondria-induced oxidative stress reported to cause hyperglycemia is believed to impair hippocampal neural plasticity, affecting long-term potentiation, and isconsidered crucial for maintaining memory functions. In this study, the neuroprotective effect of Pentoxifylline (PTX) for four weeks, an agent known for antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, was examined in an animal model of diabetes.

According to the laboratory prescription, the communication process must include all the essential elements to complete the prosthesis fabrication correctly. The digital revolution in dentistry suggested using information technology system prescriptions instead of traditional prescriptions.

Methodology: This study involved a retrospective analysis of the electronic medical records of older adult patients (≥ 65 years) who visited outpatient clinics at King Abdullah University Hospital (KAUH) in Jordan between January 1, 2019, and June 1, 2024. The collected data included patient demographics, medical history, and medications, focusing on those associated with geriatric syndromes.
Introduction: The Medication Home Delivery (MHD) service from community pharmacies involves the safe and efficient delivery of pharmaceuticals (prescription and non-prescription medications), and health products directly to the patient's/consumer's home. There are several issues encountered by the users of the MHD service that have an impact on their satisfaction with the service. The study aimed to assess the public's perceptions of the MHD service in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), their willingness to utilize it, and the practical use of the service.

Tobacco smoking, in general and ECIG use in particular, has been linked to disruption of the oxidative system, resulting in organ damage. The current investigation intends to evaluate if orally administered Vitamin E (VitE) can protect from learning and cognitive impairment induced by ECIG aerosol exposure in a rat model.

Oral appliance therapy for the management of OSA is prescribed as an alternative treatment option for patients with mild to moderate OSA who fail to adhere to Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) therapy. Treatment with oral appliances addresses the craniofacial deficiencies that cause OSA by providing means to mandibular advancement and palatal expansion, thus opening the airways and potentially preventing airway collapse during sleep.

Background: The current study sets out to develop and validate a robust machine-learning model utilizing electronic health records (EHR) to forecast the risk of hypoglycemia among ICU patients in Jordan.
Research Design And Methods: The present study drew upon a substantial cohort of 13,567 patients admitted 26,248 times to the intensive care unit (ICU) over 10 years from July 2012 to July 2022. The primary outcome of interest was the occurrence of any hypoglycemic episode during the patient's ICU stay.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate pharmacists' attitude and willingness to provide extended community pharmacy services (ECPS), the barriers to ECPS, and the factors associated with attitude and willingness to implement ECPS.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, a validated, self-administered questionnaire was distributed online to community pharmacists across the United Arab Emirates between September and November 2023. In addition to sociodemographic data, the questionnaire evaluated attitudes toward ECPS, willingness to provide ECPS, and barriers to its implementation.
Background: Patients with multiple myeloma (MM) are at risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE), worsened by immunomodulatory drugs. Although antithrombotics are recommended for prophylaxis, existing guidelines are suboptimal and treatment outcomes remain unclear.
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate adverse events, antithrombotic utilization, and their associations with survival outcomes in patients with MM initiating multi-drug immunomodulatory combinations.
Background: The prevalence of type 2 diabetes (DM) has been increasing globally, particularly among older adults who are more susceptible to DM-related complications. Elderly individuals with diabetes are at higher risk of developing hypoglycemia compared with younger diabetes patients. Hypoglycemia in elderly patients can result in serious consequences such as cognitive changes, increased risk of falls, heart and other vascular problems, and even high mortality rate.
