Aim: This study aimed to assess physicians' and pharmacists' awareness and use of tools to identify PIP, as well as their confidence in recommending medication for older people.

While advancements in medical care have improved survival rates, adults with SCD continue to face substantial challenges in their quality of life (QoL) due to chronic pain, recurrent VOCs, and various complications. This study aimed to evaluate the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in adult patients aged 14 years and above with SCD and identify key factors influencing patient outcomes using the Adult Sickle Cell Quality of Life Measurement Information System (ASCQ-Me).

Physicians' Perspectives on Health-Related Quality of Life and Mental Health Aspects of People with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: A Cross-Sectional Study in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Aim: To explore the physicians' knowledge, awareness, and perspectives on HRQoL and mental health aspects of people with T2DM in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Methods: A cross-sectional survey study was conducted over a three-month period (October to December 2022) on 54 physicians. Physicians were requested to respond to a 12-item researcher-designed, self-administered survey questionnaire that explored their perspectives regarding the importance of their patients' general, physical, and mental health aspects using the 12-item Short Form Health Survey Version 2 (SF-12v2).

Tuberculosis (TB) treatment challenges in TB-diabetes comorbid patients: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: The Directly Observed Treatment-Short Course (DOTS) Programme was implemented by WHO and includes a combination of four anti-tuberculosis (TB) drugs (isoniazid, pyrazinamide, ethambutol and rifampicin) for a period of six months to eradicate the TB infection completely. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is recognized as one of a strong contributor of TB according to World Health Organization (WHO). The presence of diabetes mellitus type 2 (DM type 2) makes TB treatment complicated.

Healing and Spontaneous Realignment of Displaced Roots With Periapical Granuloma After Microsurgical Endodontic Treatment (Three Years' Follow-up): A Case Report.

Endodontic therapy aims to treat or prevent apical periodontitis, a condition characterized by inflammation of the periapical tissues at the apex of the tooth root. This case study demonstrates the successful nonsurgical and surgical management of a large periapical lesion involving the lower central incisors with root displacement induced by a periapical granuloma. A patient was referred from the maxillofacial department for endodontic treatment due to persistent pain and swelling in the lower anterior region started two months ago.

This study used seven different adhesive removal systems to evaluate and compare enamel surface integrity, heat generation, and time consumed during residual cement removal after de-bracketing. The sample size was 140 human premolars. Teeth were cleaned, mounted, and prepared for orthodontic bracket bonding.

Decomposition and dipteran succession on buried rabbits carcasses.

The rabbit carcasses used in this study were buried at depths of 20 and 40 cm, were examined to construct a fly succession database on buried carrion in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Twenty-four rabbits were buried, 12 at 20 cm and 12 at 40 cm. One carcass at each depth was exhumed at 10-day intervals up to 120 days.

Background A central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) is defined as a primary bloodstream infection (BSI) in a patient that had a central line within the 48-hour period before the development of the BSI and is not bloodstream-related to an infection at another site. CLABSI is a common healthcare-associated infection and a significant cause of morbidity and mortality. Methods This systematic review included studies published within the past 13 years that examined risk factors and clinical impact variables associated with CLABSI, using the Centers for Disease Control (CDC)/National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) criteria for defining catheter-associated infection, and included participants of all ages.

This study aimed to identify species and succession of beetles on buried remains. From 28 January to 31 May 2021, we examined the Coleoptera on buried and exposed rabbit carcasses, on the campus of the University of King Saud in an area measured around 175 m by 250 m.
