Objective: To determine whether a dose-response relationship exists between short-term oral prednisone administration and common clinicopathologic variables, cardiovascular biomarkers, and systolic arterial blood pressure (SAP) in healthy dogs.
Animals: 8 healthy Beagles.
Procedures: Dogs underwent five 5-day experiments (no prednisone treatment [control condition] and prednisone administration at 0.
High-dose, pharmacological ascorbate (P-AscH) is preferentially cytotoxic to human cancer cells . Investigations on the efficacy of P-AscH as an adjuvant treatment for multiple human cancers are on-going, but has yet to be formally investigated in dogs. The primary objectives of this study were to determine the pharmacokinetic (PK) profile of P-AscH in healthy Beagle dogs and the effects of P-AscH on canine osteosarcoma cells .

This multi-institutional study characterizes the clinicopathologic and molecular features of this tumor by utilizing next-generation sequencing to assess common mutations and gene fusions involved in thyroid carcinogenesis as well as fluorescence in-situ hybridization for MAML2 translocations typical of salivary gland mucoepidermoid carcinoma. Nine cases (6 females and 3 males, mean age: 59 years, range 30-77 years) were identified.

Methods: Cases with FGFR1 fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) testing performed from 2000 to 2013 were evaluated for amplification status and clinicopathologic features.
Background: Xp11.2 or TFE3 translocation renal cell carcinomas (RCC) and alveolar soft part sarcoma (ASPS) are characterized by chromosome translocations involving the Xp11.2 breakpoint resulting in transcription factor TFE3 gene fusions.
