Article Synopsis
  • Changes in the extracellular matrix are linked to heart remodeling, and this study focused on how the serum concentration of procollagen type I propeptide (PIP) correlates with outcomes in heart failure patients.
  • A total of 111 patients with decompensated heart failure were analyzed, considering death and readmission rates as primary outcomes.
  • Findings revealed that higher PIP levels were associated with greater risks of death and readmission, suggesting that PIP could serve as a valuable predictive marker for heart failure prognosis.
