This European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) guideline provides recommendations for the management of IgE-mediated food allergy and was developed using the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluations (GRADE) approach. Following the confirmation of IgE-mediated food allergy diagnosis, allergen avoidance and dietary advice (with support of a specialised dietitian, if possible) together with the provision of a written treatment plan, education on the recognition of allergic symptoms and prescription of medication including adrenaline using an auto-injector are essential. Patients with significant anxiety and requirement for coping strategies may benefit from support from a clinical psychologist.

Sensitization to food and airborne allergens is common in the majority of patients with eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). Although there is not a direct cause-effect relationship of IgE-mediated allergy with the pathogenesis of EoE, there is a growing evidence that oral desensitization to food and sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) may induce the development of EoE as an adverse effect. As part of the 'EoE and Allergen Immunotherapy (AIT)' Task Force funded by the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), a systematic approach will be followed to review the evidence from the published scientific literature on the development of EoE in children and adults under any type of AIT.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of EoE in a large cohort of children who underwent OIT in our center, and to determine if there were any clinical, endoscopic, or histologic differences depending on the food employed for the OIT.
Methods: A retrospective study was performed over a 15-year period (2005-2020).
Background: Anaphylaxis, which is rare, has been reported after COVID-19 vaccination, but its management is not standardized.
Method: Members of the European Network for Drug Allergy and the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology interested in drug allergy participated in an online questionnaire on pre-vaccination screening and management of allergic reactions to COVID-19 vaccines, and literature was analysed.
Results: No death due to anaphylaxis to COVID-19 vaccines has been confirmed in scientific literature.

Methods: An EAACI task force conducted an online survey to gather relevant information regarding FA-AIT practice and setting-specific resources after reviewing the published literature and congress abstracts throughout Europe.
Research data derived from observational studies are accumulating quickly in the field of allergy and immunology and a large amount of observational studies are published every year. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the adherence to the Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (STROBE) checklist by papers published in the three European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology journals, during the period 2009-2018. To this end, we conducted a bibliographic study of up to eight randomly selected papers per year per Journal.

Scientific research, diagnostic tools and clinical experience have shown that children suffering from IgE-mediated fish allergy do not need to follow a strict exclusion diet. In fact, they could tolerate some species of fish, which could be reintroduced in the diet by verifying their tolerance with an oral food challenge in a clinical setting. Consequently, it is possible to look a new insight on diagnosis and management of IgE-mediated fish allergy in children, considering the use of canned tuna in clinical settings.

The emergence of new technology enables allergists and patients to compile data and receive feedback regarding key symptoms, risk behavior, and/or management. The term "eHealth" refers to a diverse group of tools that use computerized technologies to improve both the efficacy and the efficiency of the health care industry. eHealth comprises a variety of technologies, as follows: mobile devices (mHealth) in medical care, including electronic diaries, wearable sensors, and adherence monitoring; health informatics (eg, electronic health records, computerized physician order entry, clinical decision support); telemedicine, which is the use of information and communication technologies for the management of diseases and medical education; social media platforms, and the analysis of information acquired through these platforms using "big data" technologies.
