Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the leading cause of cardiovascular events and showed high prevalence and healthcare costs in 2019. However, CAD screening for cardiovascular event prevention is invasive and expensive. This study aims to estimate the ability of a noninvasive method, pulse wave velocity (PWV), to detect the presence or absence of coronary artery disease in patients with suspected CAD.

Objective: The combination of dry needling and stretching has been proposed for the treatment of myofascial trigger points (MTPs), but it is not currently known whether the combination of both interventions would be of greater interest than the application of stretching alone. Thus, this systematic review aimed to compare the effectiveness of deep dry needling with stretching versus stretching alone on pain among patients with MTPs.
Methods: The PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Scopus databases were searched to identify studies analysing the effect of deep dry needling in combination with stretching versus stretching alone for the treatment of pain.
Objective: To determine the effects of multidisciplinary home-based interventions delivered by multidisciplinary teams to prevent adverse events (mortality, emergency visits, and hospital readmissions) and improve quality of life (QoL) among frail older adults.
Methods: A systematic search of PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Web of Science, and the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature was conducted until November 2023. The Risk of bias of the randomized controlled trials was assessed via the Cochrane risk of bias tool (RoB 2.
Unlabelled: Background: Cognitive impairment, characterized by deficits in cognitive functions and loss of delayed and immediate recall, disproportionately affects individuals aged 65 years and older, particularly those with comorbid cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension and diabetes mellitus. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the potential association between intranasal insulin and cognitive and/or memory impairment, with a specific focus on delayed and immediate recall, considering the rising prevalence of cognitive disorders in the aging population. Methodology: Employing a rigorous systematic approach, we conducted a thorough search of MEDLINE, Scopus, the Cochrane database, and Web of Science from inception to November 23, 2022, identifying relevant randomized clinical trials.

However, there are no studies that included graded motor imagery and therapeutic neuroscience education to multicomponent treatment for patients with fibromyalgia This study aims to compare the short-term effects (at 12 weeks) of a multicomponent treatment combined with graded motor imagery and therapeutic neuroscience education versus standard treatment in patients with FM.
Methods: The study was a single-blinded randomized controlled trial.

Background: Although aerobic training leads to physiological improvements in people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), measured by the VO2 peak, there is no evidence as to which type of physical exercise intervention is the most effective in improving the VO peak or max.
Objective: A network meta-analysis (NMA) was performed to determine the effects of different physical interventions on oxygen uptake in people with COPD.
Methods: A literature search was performed from database inception to February 2024.
There is a high prevalence of neuropsychiatric disorders in myotonic dystrophy types 1 and 2 (DM1 and DM2), including autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in DM1, and depression and anxiety in both DMs. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to estimate the prevalence of ASD, ADHD, depression and anxiety in the population with DM, and their association with disease onset. A systematic search of Medline, Scopus, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library was conducted from inception to November 2023.

This meta-analysis aims to examine the cross-sectional and longitudinal associations between PWV and the presence of WMH among older adults.
Methods: We searched PubMed, Scopus, and WOS until June 2024.
Introduction: There is currently no known cure for cognitive impairment, which highlights the need to explore other ways of managing this condition. This topic has recently become an area of active research. However, the availability of nonpharmacological options poses a challenge when trying to determine the best treatment for improving cognitive function.

Extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) is used as a treatment for spasticity, although more evidence is needed on the effectiveness of this therapy in the treatment of spasticity. Therefore, the aim of this study was to assess the effectiveness ESWT in the treatment of upper and lower limbs spasticity in both children and adults through different aetiologies.

Objective: This study aims to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis on experimental studies reporting the effects of eHealth interventions aimed at promoting PA on PA parameters and sedentary behavior parameters in children and adolescents.
Methods: The CENTRAL, MEDLINE, Embase, and Web of Science databases were searched from inception to February 2022 for randomized controlled trials that analyzed the effects of eHealth interventions aimed at promoting PA on PA and sedentary parameters in children and adolescents.
Objective: To assess which type of physical exercise intervention has the most beneficial effects on balance, postural stability and general mobility in patients with Parkinson's disease. These parameters were assessed using the Activities-specific Balance Confidence (ABC) scale, Berg Balance Scale (BBS), Mini-Balance Evaluation Systems Test (MiniBESTest) and Timed Up and Go Test (TUG).
Design: Network meta-analysis.
Background: This study aimed to examine the associations between physical fitness components and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) among adults stratified by sex and age. In addition, we aimed to examine whether these associations change based on socioeconomic, clinical, and biochemical characteristics.
Methods: A total of 297 participants aged 47.

Objective: To describe the protocol of the MOVI-ageing randomized controlled trial, a home-based eHealth intervention of cognitive-demanding exercise for older adults, in improving global cognitive function and basic cognitive functions, cardiorespiratory fitness, and muscle fitness.
Methods: This randomized controlled trial will include participants identified in the social centers of Cuenca and Talavera de la Reina who agree to participate and provide informed consent. Adults aged 60-80 years of both genders retired regardless of the reason for retirement, who do not meet frailty criteria according to Fried criteria, and without cognitive impairment will be invited to participate.
Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has systemic consequences and causes structural abnormalities throughout the respiratory system. It is associated with a high clinical burden worldwide.
Aim: A network meta-analysis was performed to determine the effects of exercise programs on lung function measured by forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1), FEV1 as a percentage of the predicted value (FEV1%) and forced vital capacity in people with COPD.
To analyse the relationship between steps per day and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) and to examine whether the relationship between steps per day and HRQoL is mediated by CRF in schoolchildren. This was a cross-sectional study including 501 schoolchildren (aged 9-12 years, 47% girls), from Cuenca, Spain. Steps per day were measured using the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 Smart Bracelet, HRQoL was estimated by the KIDSCREEN-27 questionnaire, and CRF was assessed using the 20-m shuttle run test.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a public health problem and a common cause of blindness. It is diagnosed by fundus examination; however, this is a costly and time-consuming method. Non-invasive skin autofluorescence (SAF) may be an accessible, fast and simple alternative for screening and early diagnosis of DR.
