The selective amination of aromatic C-H bonds is a powerful strategy to access aryl amines, functionalities found in many pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. Despite advances in the field, a platform for the direct, selective C-H amination of electronically diverse (hetero)arenes, particularly electron-deficient (hetero)arenes, remains an unaddressed fundamental challenge. In addition, many (hetero)arenes present difficulty in common selective pre-functionalization reactions, such as halogenation, or metal-catalyzed borylation and silylation.

PAS domain-containing serine/threonine-protein kinase (PASK) is a nutrient and energy sensor regulated by fasting/refeeding conditions in hypothalamic areas involved in controlling energy balance. In this sense, PASK plays a role in coordinating the activation/inactivation of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) and mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) in response to fasting. Introduction: Retrograde ejaculation (RE) consists of the reflux backwards, towards the bladder, of the ejaculate, during the emission phase of ejaculation, causing a total or partial absence of sperm emission, with the consequent diversion of semen into the bladder during the emission phase of ejaculation. Evaluating the ejaculate may not be sufficient for identifying RE in some patients. Hence, the management of infertility may involve the use of invasive methods such as epididymal fluid retrieval or testicular biopsy.

Marine debris such as plastic, metal, and rubber, is a significant source of anthropogenic waste pollution in oceanic waters. Debris continues to be found along Southern California's coastlines and poses serious risks to biodiversity and ecosystem health through entrapment, ingestion, and entanglement. Background: The COVID-19 pandemic, caused by SARS-CoV-2, has highlighted the need for vaccines targeting both neutralizing antibodies (NAbs) and long-lasting cross-reactive T cells covering multiple viral proteins to provide broad and durable protection against emerging variants.

Methods: To address this, here we developed two vaccine candidates, namely (i) DNA-CoV2-TMEP, expressing the multiepitopic CoV2-TMEP protein containing immunodominant and conserved T cell regions from SARS-CoV-2 structural proteins, and (ii) MVA-CoV2-B2AT, encoding a bi-cistronic multiepitopic construct that combines conserved B and T cell overlapping regions from SARS-CoV-2 structural proteins.

Results: Both candidates were assessed in vitro and in vivo demonstrating their ability to induce robust immune responses.

Community care is a creative way of thinking about health care that mobilizes resources within a community and consists of four core principles: recognition of the urgency of access-to-care for the veterinary profession, collaboration within community networks, family-centered health care, and redefining the gold standard of care. The AAHA Community Care Guidelines for Small Animal Practice offer strategies to help busy veterinary practitioners increase access to care within their practice and community by optimizing collaborative networks. While these guidelines do not claim to provide exhaustive solutions to access-to-care issues, they propose a starting point from which private practices can explore and implement workable solutions for their community and their practice.

Recently, there has been a huge increase in the different ways to manufacture polymer-based sensors. Methods like additive manufacturing, microfluidic preparation, and brush painting are just a few examples of new approaches designed to improve sensor features like self-healing, higher sensitivity, reduced drift over time, and lower hysteresis. The antimicrobial properties of a series of anionic bis(carbene) silver complexes Na[Ag(NHC)] were investigated (- and , where NHC is a 2,2'-(imidazol-2-ylidene)dicarboxylate-type -heterocyclic carbene).
