Anti-programmed death-1 (anti-PD1) treatment has significantly improved outcomes of advanced melanoma with a considerable percentage of patients achieving complete response (CR). This real-world study analyzed the feasibility of elective anti-PD1 discontinuation in advanced melanoma patients with CR and evaluated factors related to sustained response. Thirty-five patients with advanced cutaneous or primary unknown melanoma with CR to nivolumab or pembrolizumab from 11 centers were included.

  • Thromboembolic complications are a significant issue in cancer patients, increasing both morbidity and mortality, prompting the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology to establish a registry for better understanding of cancer-associated thrombosis (CAT).
  • The TESEO study is an ongoing, multicentric registry that tracks newly diagnosed thromboembolic events in adult cancer patients, focusing on various health conditions and treatment responses to enhance clinical management of CAT.

Dissemination of neoplastic cells into the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and leptomeninges is a devastating complication in patients with epithelial cell neoplasia (leptomeningeal carcinomatosis [LC]) and lymphomas (lymphomatous meningitis [LyM]). Information about the surrounding inflammatory cell populations is scarce. In this study, flow cytometry immunophenotyping was used to describe the distribution of the main leukocyte populations in the CSF of 83 patients diagnosed with neoplastic meningitis (LC, n = 65; LyM, n = 18).
