Background: People with Parkinson's disease (PD) have an increased risk of dementia, yet patients and clinicians frequently avoid talking about it due to associated stigma, and the perception that "nothing can be done about it". However, open conversations about PD dementia may allow people with the condition to access treatment and support, and may increase participation in research aimed at understanding PD dementia.
Objectives: To co-produce information resources for patients and healthcare professionals to improve conversations about PD dementia.
Understanding orchard floor management is critical to organic tree-fruit production systems given its impact on weeds, soil fertility, tree health, and crop yield. Several viable options are available to producers for weed management and promotion of organic fertility, including use of turf and broadleaf alleyway covers and living and nonliving tree-row mulches. While these measures can be effective, little is known about how these strategies influence arthropod pests, which cause fruit injury.

The perception of taste relies on new taste bud cells integrating with existing neural circuitry, yet how these new cells connect with a taste ganglion neuron is unknown. Do taste ganglion neurons remodel to accommodate taste bud cell renewal? If so, how much of the structure of taste axons is fixed and how much remodels? Here, we measured the motility and branching of individual taste arbors (the portion of the axon innervating taste buds) in mice over time with two-photon in vivo microscopy.

Commercial stocks are sourced from a few locations in the western United States but are sold across the country. However, the existence of local adaptations of these bees is unknown, such as the propensity to nest in nearby provided materials or to disperse broadly beyond release sites.

It is an orphan disease, where standard wound treatments such as sharp surgical debridement are contraindicated. This retrospective case series sought to evaluate the application of dehydrated human amnion/chorion membrane (DHACM) as a skin substitute in cases that were refractory to a range of standard-of-care techniques.

Predicting the spread of invaders, which can aid in early mitigation efforts, is a major challenge, especially in the face of climate change. While ecological niche models are effective tools to assess habitat suitability for invaders, such models have rarely been created for invasive pest species with rapidly expanding ranges.

Methods: Data from 1558 participants (649 AD participants, 445 CI non-AD participants and 464 controls) were examined, comparing p-tau181 levels between Controls, AD and other dementias, stratified by age.
Results: There were significant differences in plasma p-tau181 values between Controls and those with AD at all ages up to 85 years.
The invasive Halyomorpha halys (Stål) is a significant agricultural and urban nuisance pest in many parts of the world. In North America, biological control of H. halys by parasitoid wasps in the families Scelionidae and Eupelmidae has shown promise.

It was first documented in northern Utah in 2012 and reports of urban nuisance problems and plant damage have since increased. Biological control is the preferred solution to managing in North America and other invaded regions due to its alignment with integrated pest management and sustainable practices.

Halyomorpha halys adult and nymphal captures on clear sticky traps and in black pyramid traps were compared in 18 states across the Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Pacific Northwest and Western regions of the United States. Traps were baited with commercial lures containing the H.

Determining the risk of hypertrophic scarring and keloid formation more precisely delineates the safety of this procedure and improves patient education regarding the risk of scarring.
Objective: To investigate the incidence of hypertrophic scarring and keloids in a large patient population following treatment with a Q-switched neodymium-doped:yttrium-aluminum-garnet laser.
Introduction: We recently published an article in this journal describing the successful conservative treatment of a patient with an infected laparoscopically inserted hernia mesh using gentamycin flushes via a pig-tail drain and long term oral antibiotics. This prevented the need for major reconstructive surgery. However, 3 months after we published our report, the patient re-presented with symptoms of a recurrence of infection.

The Code provides a general principle and 16 rules to prevent such adverts implying, condoning or encouraging immoderate, irresponsible or anti-social drinking.
Methods: Quota sample of 373 adults, representative of the UK population aged 18-74 years in terms of age and gender, were recruited at a train station.

Introduction: A dreaded complication of laparoscopic hernia repair is infection of the mesh. Traditionally mesh infection is managed by surgical removal of the mesh, an extensive procedure resulting in high re-herniation rates. A technique to treat such infections whilst salvaging the mesh is sorely needed.

Management programs are based on preventing larval entry into the fruit or nut and are typically timed by heat-driven models that are synchronized to field populations by first capture of overwintering moths in pheromone traps.

Despite considerable research, the management of advanced disease remains challenging. Numerous therapies are being investigated, many of which aim at upregulating the immune system's innate ability to attack the tumor.

The first two mutants identified had loss-of-function mutations in the gene encoding a previously obscure member of a family of Rho-Rac GTP-exchange factors, DOCK8. DOCK8-mutant B cells were unable to form marginal zone B cells or to persist in germinal centers and undergo affinity maturation.

We tested the efficacy of five pathogens over the course of three seasons in 10 Michigan apple and cherry orchards, with introductions of larvae to caged pots containing pathogen-treated soil. The nematode Steinernema riobrave was the most effective pathogen in the 2 yr it was tested, but only in soils with the highest sand content (81-88%) and when it was applied 1 h or 5 d after last instars of plum curculio.

Flies were removed from the traps and females were dissected to determine the presence of fully developed eggs.

We evaluated the potential efficacy of two entomopathogenic nematode species for suppression of plum curculio in northern regions, targeting life stages that reside in soil during spring and summer. A strain of Heterorhabditis bacteriophora isolated from soil infested with plum curculio in northern Utah and a commercially available strain of Steinernema feltiae known to tolerate cool temperatures were tested in the laboratory against three life stages of plum curculio.
