This research introduces a surface plasmon resonance (SPR)-based biosensor with multilayered structures for telecommunication wavelength in order to detect multiple diseases. The malaria and the chikungunya viruses are taken into account and the presence of these viruses are determined by examining several blood components in healthy and affected phases. Here, two distinct configurations (Al-BTO-Al-MoS2 and Cu-BTO-Cu-MoS2) are proposed and contrasted for the detection of numerous viruses.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThis study determined the influence of different cooking procedures on the removal of toxic elements (TEs) including arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), and lead (Pb) along with other nutrient elements from different commercially available rice brands sold in Bangladeshi markets. We observed 33%, 35%, and 27% average removal of As, Cd, and Pb accordingly from rice when cooked with a rice to water ratio of 1:6 after washing 5 times. We also found a significant reduction in essential elements: Zn (17%), Cu (10%), Mn (22%), Se (49%), and Mo (22%), when rice cooking was performed as in traditional practice.

Gold is used as the active plasmonic material in order to create resonance, and it is placed outside the fiber structure to facilitate the fabrication process. In current clinical practice, morphine is dosed in older patients based on patient-weight, with different calculations for adjustment. However, at present, neither clinical experience nor the literature offers a clear evidence base for the relationship between antinociception, behavioral effects and morphine administration in older patients. In this study, we compared the nociceptive response of 8 and 24 week old rats after subcutaneous administration of morphine per body weight and analyzed their behavior using an advanced multi-conditioning system.

Despite increased mechanistic understanding of morphine tolerance, little is known about the influence of dosing regimens in its development.
