Lipedema is a chronic condition characterized by abnormal deposition of subcutaneous adipose tissue, leading to pain. The lack of internationally recognized diagnostic criteria complicates the characterization of pain. Physiological parameters such as pain pressure threshold (PPT) represent promising prognostic markers for diagnosing lipedema, yet they remain understudied.

Lymphedema is one of the most recurrent problems reported by breast cancer survivors, which negatively affects quality of life (QoL). The Upper Limb Lymphedema Quality of Life Questionnaire (ULL-27) is a tool that assesses the QoL in patients with breast cancer-related lymphedema. At present, an Italian adaptation does not exist.

Patients (n = 235) undergoing local treatment including wound care and compression bandaging, were randomised to receive either sulodexide or matching placebo for three months. Primary study endpoint was complete ulcer healing after 2 months; secondary endpoints were ulcer healing at 3 months and the time-course changes of ulcer areas.
