Prolonged infections in immunocompromised individuals may be a source for novel Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) variants, particularly when both the immune system and antiviral therapy fail to clear the infection and enable within-host evolution. Here we describe a 486-day case of SARS-CoV-2 infection in an immunocompromised individual. Following monotherapy with the monoclonal antibody Bamlanivimab, the individual's virus acquired resistance, likely via the earliest known occurrence of Spike amino acid variant E484T.

There is little known about performing transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) in patients with group 1 pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) on advanced pulmonary vasodilator therapy. Retrospective cohort study among 90 patients with systemic sclerosis-associated pulmonary arterial hypertension and systemic sclerosis-associated pulmonary hypertension (SSc-PAH/PH) evaluated at a tertiary PH center. The SSc-PAH/PH cohort was stratified by the presence or absence of aortic stenosis (AS) to identify differences in baseline characteristics, hemodynamics, and long-term outcomes.

Bow Hunter's syndrome, also referred to as rotational occlusion of the vertebral artery, is caused by dynamic compression of a patient's dominant vertebral artery. We reported a case of successful clinical and imaging work up of Bow Hunter's Syndrome that occurred in a 79-year-old female patient. This scoping review describes current guidelines for the dietary management of pediatric obesity and severe obesity. Guidelines were identified via electronic searches of six databases, grey literature, and reference lists and included international clinical practice guidelines (n = 21), position papers (n = 5), and scientific/consensus statements (n = 2) produced by professional bodies and/or expert panels. All recommend multicomponent lifestyle interventions including diet, physical activity, and behavior modification as first-line treatment.

To determine if New World primates express an inhibitor that influences glucocorticoid receptor (GR) binding characteristics, we examined [3H]dexamethasone binding in cytosol prepared from B95-8 lymphoid cells, derived from the cotton top tamarin (Saguinus oedipus), in combination with cytosol prepared from human or rat tissues. B95-8 cytosol inhibited specific binding of [3H]dexamethasone (P < 0.01) when mixed with cytosol prepared from either a human lymphoid cell line (HL) or rat thymus.
