Hip Pain Increases With Age and Experience Level in Adult Karate Athletes: A Statewide Survey Study.

Purpose: To investigate the prevalence of hip pain from labral tears and femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) in karate athletes using a statewide online survey.

Methods: An anonymous electronic survey was distributed via Qualtrics to all registered members of a statewide karate organization who were a purple belt or higher. Basic demographic information was collected as well as belt level, competitive level, and information regarding hip pain and treatment for hip pain.
