Ovarian stimulation for fertility preservation in women with cancer: A systematic review and meta-analysis comparing random and conventional starts.

Objective: In female cancer patients anticipating chemotherapy or radiation, oocyte retrieval for fertility should be performed as efficiently as possible to avoid postponing cancer treatments. Our objective was to compare clinical outcomes among female cancer patients who underwent a conventional early follicular phase-start ovarian stimulation cycle and those who underwent a random-start ovarian stimulation cycle.

Pelvic Castleman's Disease Presenting as an Adnexal Mass in an Adolescent.

Background: Castleman disease (CD) is a rare lymphoproliferative disorder that might present as an adnexal mass. We report a case of pelvic CD in an adolescent girl who presented with abdominal pain.

Case: A 13-year-old girl presented with severe abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting, and was found to have a solid adnexal mass.

Preoperative Falls and Their Association with Functional Dependence and Quality of Life.

Background: No study has rigorously explored the characteristics of surgical patients with recent preoperative falls. Our objective was to describe the essential features of preoperative falls and determine whether they are associated with preoperative functional dependence and poor quality of life.

Methods: This was an observational study involving 15,060 surveys from adult patients undergoing elective surgery.
