Rationale And Objectives: An annual survey of chief residents in accredited North American radiology programs is conducted by the American Alliance of Academic Chief Residents in Radiology (ACR). Special topics surveyed for the 2021-2022 academic year were procedural competency and virtual radiology education in the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study is to summarize the 2021-2022 ACR chief resident survey.

This makes ytterbium (Yb)-169, which emits photons with an average energy of 93 keV (just above the K-edge of gold), an ideal radioisotope for such purposes. This investigation tests the feasibility of tumor-specific prostate brachytherapy achievable with Yb-169 and actively targeted GNPs, using an external beam surrogate of Yb-169 created from an exotic filter material - erbium (Er) and a standard copper-filtered 250 kVp beam.

However, the recent promising results with combination chemotherapy regimens for metastatic disease increase optimism for future treatments. With greater control of overt or occult metastatic disease, there will likely be an expanding role for local treatment modalities, especially given that nearly a third of pancreatic cancer patients have locally destructive disease without distant metastatic disease at the time of death.
