The glycine cleavage system (GCS) is a complex located on the mitochondrial membrane that is responsible for regulating glycine levels and contributing one-carbon units to folate metabolism. Congenital mutations in GCS components, such as (), cause an elevation in glycine levels and the rare disease, nonketotic hyperglycinemia (NKH). NKH patients suffer from pleiotropic symptoms including seizures, lethargy, mental retardation, and early death.

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on nurse residents' perceptions of preparedness while learning in a virtual environment remains unknown. This cohort study compared nurse residents' perceptions of preparedness in traditional in-person versus virtual learning environments. Results found no statistically significant differences between these two groups over 1 year.
