Purpose: Despite the importance of patient satisfaction (PS) on healthcare outcomes, the factors that influence PS in radiation oncology remain unexplored. This study assesses the influence of socioeconomic status (SES) on PS in radiation oncology, using the Area Deprivation Index (ADI) as a measure of SES.

Methods: This single-institution cross-sectional study used the National Research Council (NRC) PS survey at four radiation oncology sites from 2021 to 2023.

21 Gy single fraction prostate HDR brachytherapy: 5-year results of a single institution prospective pilot study.

Purpose: To present the outcome and toxicity results of a prospective trial of 21 Gy single fraction high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy for men with low- or intermediate-risk prostate cancer.

Methods And Materials: Patients were treated according to an IRB-approved prospective study of single fraction HDR brachytherapy. Eligible patients had low- or intermediate-risk prostate cancer with tumor stage ≤ T2b, PSA ≤ 15, and Gleason score ≤ 7.

Low contralateral failure rate with unilateral proton beam radiotherapy for oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma: A multi-institutional prospective study from the proton collaborative group.

Introduction: Unilateral radiation therapy is appropriate for select patients with oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC). The use of proton beam therapy (PBT) in the unilateral setting decreases the dose to the contralateral neck and organs at risk. This study aims to evaluate contralateral recurrences in patients who received ipsilateral PBT.

Materials And Methods: In this single-institution retrospective cohort study, we evaluated patients with prostate adenocarcinoma who underwent MRI within 6 months before completing definitive RT and follow-up information in our GU toxicity database from June 2016 to February 2023. MRI measurements included quantitative urethra, prostate, and bladder measurements.

Disparities in HPV Screening and Prevention in Metropolitan and Nonmetropolitan Regions of Michigan.

Among rural and underserved areas, existing disparities are very well studied, but current perceptions of HPV vaccination among parents are unknown. This study was designed using a survey administered to parents of children eligible for the HPV vaccine at community events throughout Central and Northern Michigan. These data suggest that the most important factor leading to successful vaccination is a conversation with a PCP.
