Unlabelled: The adult healthy human pancreas has been poorly studied given the lack of indication to obtain tissue from the pancreas in the absence of disease and rapid postmortem degradation. We obtained pancreata from brain dead donors, thus avoiding any warm ischemia time. The 30 donors were diverse in age and race and had no known pancreas disease.

Synopsis of recent research by authors named "Allison C Bischoff"

  • - Recent research by Allison C Bischoff focuses on the analysis of donor pancreata to explore the transcriptomic signature and microenvironment of early neoplastic lesions in the pancreas.
  • - The studies leverage pancreata obtained from brain-dead donors to mitigate the effects of warm ischemia time, providing a more reliable tissue sample for analysis.
  • - Findings indicate significant insights into the characteristics of early pre-neoplastic pancreatic lesions, contributing to understanding the pathology of pancreatic diseases and potentially aiding in early diagnosis and intervention.
