Background: To assess the anatomical and functional outcomes in eyes with persistent diabetic macular oedema (pDME) on chronic anti-vascular endothelial growth factor therapy switched to intravitreal faricimab.
Methods: Patients with pDME on chronic anti-vascular endothelial growth factor therapy that were switched to faricimab and received at least three injections at our institution between April 2022 and May 2023 were included in this study. Patients were excluded if they had complete response to previous treatment but were switched to extend treatment intervals if they had steroid or laser treatment for DME within 6 months prior to switch.
Purpose: To assess the anatomic and functional outcomes in eyes with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) previously treated with anti-VEGF therapy in response to intravitreal faricimab.
Design: Retrospective, interventional, consecutive case series.
Subjects: Patients with previously treated nAMD who received ≥ 4 consecutive injections of faricimab were included.
Purpose: To report the outcomes of pars plana vitrectomy for vitreous hemorrhage (VH) associated with retinal vein occlusion and to identify prognostic indicators.
Methods: Interventional, retrospective consecutive case series between 2015 and 2021.
Results: The study included 138 eyes of 138 patients (64 female and 74 male); 81 patients had branch retinal vein occlusion and 57 had central retinal vein occlusion.
Purpose: To assess head position following pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) using a novel low-energy, non-intrusive 3-D position sensor platform.
Methods: In this prospective non-randomized interventional case series, a low-energy Bluetooth smart sensor housed within a novel eye shield recorded 3-D positional data every five minutes. The device was placed on the patient immediately after PPV and data was retrieved at the postoperative day 1 visit.
Purpose: To determine baseline patient characteristics that predict the need for glaucoma surgery or blindness in eyes with neovascular glaucoma (NVG) despite intravitreal antivascular endothelial growth factor therapy.
Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study of patients with NVG who had not previously received glaucoma surgery and were treated with intravitreal antivascular endothelial growth factor injections at the time of diagnosis, from September 8, 2011, to May 8, 2020, at a large, retina subspecialty practice.
Results: Of 301 newly presenting NVG eyes, 31% required glaucoma surgery and 20% progressed to no light perception vision despite treatment.

Background: To identify vitreoretinal practice patterns in the months following the initial 2020 national shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States (US).
Study Design: Retrospective analysis of vitreoretinal practice patterns from multiple retinal centers across the US from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2020.
Results: The lowest utilization of retina care occurred during the week of March 23, 2020, after which utilization returned to pre-pandemic levels by July 2020.
Objective: To compare the rates of complications in eyes that received a dexamethasone (DEX) implant (0.7 mg) or intravitreal triamcinolone (IVT) (2 mg) to treat postvitrectomy macular edema (ME).

Objective: To determine the representation of ophthalmologists (OMD) and optometrists (ODs) when a Google search for "eye doctor near me" is made from each county in the US.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This population-based cross-sectional study used publicly available data on OMDs and ODs and a Google search application programming interface (API) to search the phrase "eye doctor near me" from the geographic coordinates of each county centroid in the US (searched June 30, 2021).
Purpose: To report the anatomic and functional outcomes of retinectomy without lensectomy in eyes with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) and proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR).
Design: Retrospective, noncomparative, and interventional case series.
Subjects: One hundred twelve eyes of 112 patients with RRD complicated by PVR who underwent retinectomy without lensectomy.

Purpose: To report the clinical course of a patient with central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR) secondary to subclinical hypercortisolism before and after adrenalectomy.
Observations: A 50-year-old female patient with multifocal, chronic CSCR was found to have an adrenal incidentaloma and was diagnosed with subclinical hypercortisolism. Patient elected to undergo minimally-invasive adrenalectomy and presented at 3 months after surgery without subretinal fluid.
Purpose: Venous thromboembolic complications have been reported in association with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection. We raised awareness regarding a potential temporal association between COVID-19 infection and retinal vein occlusion (RVO).
Design: Multicenter, retrospective, nonconsecutive case series.
Purpose: To describe outcomes of neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) eyes that were stable on aflibercept but switched to ranibizumab compared to eyes maintained on aflibercept over the same period.
Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, eyes switched from aflibercept to ranibizumab due to intraocular inflammation (IOI) concerns with aflibercept were identified. Data was gathered from 3 visits pre-switch, switch visit (Sw), and 3 visits post-switch (P1, P2, P3).

Patients And Methods: Multicenter analysis of longitudinal, aggregated electronic health records of patients undergoing pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) with no prior history of ocular hemorrhage. Retrospective analysis of patients undergoing PPV between January 1, 2013, and December 31, 2019.
Purpose: To evaluate the effect of loss to follow-up (LTFU) on outcomes in eyes with diabetic macular edema (DME) treated with anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF).

The effect of these guidelines on utilization of vitreoretinal care has not been explored to date.
