Uremic stomatitis is an underreported disease that occurs in the oral mucosa, associated with high levels of blood urea in patients with chronic kidney disease. This case report describes a 36-year-old male patient with severe and multiple oral manifestations of uremic disease. Intraoral examination revealed ulceration, atrophic and hemorrhagic areas were seen on the ventral surface of the tongue, floor of the mouth, and buccal mucosa.

Objectives: In this study, the expression of IP3R, Na+K+-ATPase, GABAA and calmodulin proteins were evaluated in histological sections of the cerebellum of rats following prolonged injection of iPTH.

Effects of local single dose administration of parathormone on the early stages of osseointegration: A pre-clinical study.

The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of parathormone (PTH) administered directly to the implant's surface prior to insertion, using a large translational animal model. Previous reports demonstrated the utility of systemic application of growth hormone (GH) in the treatment of bone defects. Very few studies correlated bone repair efficacy with hepatic and renal side effects promoted by locally-delivered GH. The objectives of this study were to assess the bone repair properties along with hepatic and renal adverse effects promoted by local application of GH in a rat model.

Large Anterior Oronasal Fistula Repair Using Pedicled Buccal Fat Pad and Fibroepithelial Tissue.

Oronasal fistula (ONF) is the most common complication after palatoplasty in patients with cleft lip and palate (CLP). When left untreated, it may negatively affect the quality of life, leading to development of other comorbidities. This study reports for the first time, the use of a portion of a hyperplasic tissue associated with pedicled buccal fat pad flap to repair a large anterior ONF in a 60-year-old man.

Immunolocalization of IP3R and V-ATPase in Ameloblastomas.

The goal of this study was to investigate the immunolocalization of inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor (IP3R) and vacuolar ATPase (V-ATPase) in ameloblastomas with special attention to the invasive front. Thirty-seven cases of previously diagnosed formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human ameloblastoma samples were selected for this study. The samples were grouped according to the predominant histologic pattern and comprised twelve plexiform, eighteen follicular, and seven unicystic ameloblastomas.

Effect of Local Application of Alendronate and Parathyroid Hormone on Craniofacial Bone Repair - a Preliminary Study.

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of two methods of local application of alendronate and parathyroid hormone (PTH) on bone repair and the systemic implications. A critically sized defect (5 mm) was created in the cranial region of twenty-five male Wistar rats, and the bone removed was particulated, and grafted back to the defect with different treatments. The animals were randomly divided into five groups: A1- bone graft immersion in alendronate solution (3 mg/kg) for 5 minutes; P1- bone graft immersion in PTH solution (20 µg); A2- weekly local applications of alendronate 1 mg/kg; P2- weekly local applications of PTH (20 µg); C- no drugs were used.
