In this counter-balanced crossover trial, 13 elite triathletes underwent a Stroop test to assess cognitive function and executive control. The Stroop test was conducted both with and without magnesium oxide intake, with a 1-week washout period between sessions.

Isolated sphenoid sinus disease (ISSD) is a rare condition that accounts for roughly 3% of all sinusitis cases. ISSD is predominantly caused by infectious and inflammation processes, with underlying fungal pathologies. This case series aims to illustrate the endonasal endoscopic management of different isolated sphenoid fungal pathologies.

Mortality patterns in chronic granulomatous invasive fungal rhinosinusitis: insights from two fatal cases.

Chronic granulomatous invasive fungal rhinosinusitis (CGIFRS) is a type of invasive fungal rhinosinusitis that is characterized by the presence of pathologic findings of non-caseating granulomas in the paranasal sinuses. This article describes two cases of CGIFRS with fatal outcomes. The first case was for a 36-year-old man who presented with headache, dizziness, and vomiting for 1 month.

Utilizing the Scopus database, a comprehensive search was executed, incorporating terms related to CF and CFTR modulators.

Childhood obesity and comorbidities-related perspective and experience of parents from Black and Asian minority ethnicities in England: a qualitative study.

Background: Preventing childhood obesity and associated comorbidities is often hampered by disproportionate disparity in healthcare provision in minority ethnic populations. This study contextualized factors influencing childhood obesity and related comorbidity from the perspectives and experiences of parents of ethnic minority populations.

Methods: Following ethical approval, families ( = 180) from ethnic minority populations in the Northeast of England were contacted through flyers, community social groups and online forum.

Aim: To quantify the economic burden associated with tobacco smoking among smokers aged 30-69 years, and second-hand smokers (SHS) aged 15-69 years in Jordan.

Materials And Methods: A prevalence-based analysis was conducted in alignment with the Economics of Tobacco Toolkit developed by the WHO. The time-horizon of the analysis was one year (2019).

Childhood Obesity and Its Comorbidities in High-Risk Minority Populations: Prevalence, Prevention and Lifestyle Intervention Guidelines.

The prevalence of childhood obesity and its associated comorbidities is a growing global health problem that disproportionately affects populations in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) and minority ethnicities in high-income countries (HICs). The increased childhood obesity disparities among populations reflect two concerns: one is HICs' ineffective intervention approaches in terms of lifestyle, nutrition and physical activity in minority populations, and the second is the virtually non-existent lifestyle obesity interventions in LMICs. This article provides guidelines on childhood obesity and its comorbidities in high-risk minority populations based on understanding the prevalence and effectiveness of preventative lifestyle interventions.

Non-traumatic Simultaneous Bilateral Femur Neck Fracture in a Young Female Unraveling End-Stage Renal Disease: A Case Report and Literature Review.

Introduction: Spontaneous femur neck fracture is rare, especially when they occur bilaterally. Renal osteodystrophy is among the causes of these fractures that should be kept in mind. We report a case of a young female who presented with bilateral hip pain and was found to have bilateral femur neck fracture due to renal osteodystrophy.

This study characterized services reported by pharmacists practicing in community pharmacy settings in the 2019 National Pharmacist Workforce Study (NPWS). The 2019 NPWS was conducted via an online survey.

The implementation of an image-guided system at a proton therapy center facility.

Purpose: Pencil Beam Scanning (PBS) proton therapy has similar requirements on patient alignment to within 1 mm and 1-degree accuracy as photon radiosurgery. This study describes general workflow, acceptance, and commissioning test procedures and their respective results for an independent robotic arm used for Image Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT) for a Proton Therapy System.

Methods: The system is equipped with kV-imaging techniques capable of orthogonal and Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) imaging modalities mounted on an independent robotic arm gantry attached to the ceiling.

A Rare Case of Contralateral Ischemic Stroke Recurrence Post-Reperfusion: Successful Management Through Timely Thrombectomy.

Stroke is a predominant contributor to global mortality and disability and represents a complex and heterogeneous disease characterized by diverse risk factors and clinical presentations. The likelihood of stroke patients being at risk of a second stroke within the first five years is higher, especially within the initial two weeks. The distressing prospect of experiencing recurrent stroke shortly after reperfusion therapy adds an additional layer of complexity, potentially reversing prior progress.

Impact of traditional Chinese Baduanjin exercise on menstrual health among international female students studying in China: a randomized controlled trial.

Background: Menstrual symptoms were the common complaints of international female students during the acculturation period, and the symptoms negatively affected the daily life and school performance of those women. The present study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the traditional Chinese Baduanjin exercise on reducing menstrual symptoms for international female students studying in China during the acculturation period.

Methods: We conducted a randomized controlled trial among 62 international female students who suffered menstrual symptoms during the first 6 months after arriving in China.

Optic pathway gliomas (OPGs) are rare pediatric tumors that pose significant challenges in management due to their location and clinical manifestations. Traditional transcranial approaches have been the mainstay for surgical intervention, but recent advancements in endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal surgery offer a less invasive alternative. Here, we present a case of a 10-year-old female child with neurofibromatosis type-1 and an aggressive OPG who underwent endoscopic endonasal transsphenoidal debulking surgery.
