Thioredoxins (TRXs) are small oxidoreductase proteins located in various subcellular compartments. Nucleoredoxin (NRX) is a nuclear-localized TRX and a key component for the integration of the antioxidant system with the immune response. Although NRX is well characterized in biotic stress responses, its functional role in abiotic stress responses is still elusive.
