To correct this omission, we have studied the rod pigments in two marsupial species, the nocturnal and frugivorous bare-tailed woolly opossum, Caluromys philander, from Central and South America, and the arhythmic and insectivorous fat-tailed dunnart, Sminthopsis crassicaudata, from Australia.
