Background: Within the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), breast cancer prevalence has more than tripled from 1995 to 2012. Women veterans may be at an increased breast cancer risk based on service-related exposures and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Methods: Women veterans aged ≥ 35 years with no personal history of breast cancer were enrolled at 2 urban VA medical centers.

A Mixed-Methods Systematic Review of the Impacts of Coronavirus on Society and Culture.

Little is understood of the social and cultural effects of coronaviruses such as coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS-CoV). This systematic review aims to synthesize existing findings (both qualitative and quantitative) that focus on the social and cultural impacts of coronaviruses in order to gain a better understanding of the COVID-19 pandemic. Utilizing a predetermined search strategy, we searched CINAHL, PsycINFO, PubMed, and Web of Science to identify existing (qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods) studies pertaining to the coronavirus infections and their intersection with societies and cultures.

The Management of Newly-Diagnosed Non-muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer in Veterans Integrated Services Network 02 of the Veterans Health Administration.

Introduction: Over 1,500 bladder cancers were diagnosed among US Veterans in 2010, the majority of which were non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC). Little is known about NMIBC treatment within the Veterans Health Administration. The objective of the study was to assess the quality of care for Veterans with newly-diagnosed NMIBC within Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 02.
