Objective: The authors' objective was to validate dosimetric and clinical predictors of the development of trigeminal neuropathy (Tn) in patients treated with stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) for a diagnosis of vestibular schwannoma (VS).
Methods: In total, 301 patients were treated with SRS for VS at the authors' center between April 2013 and June 2020, with a median prescription dose of 12.5 Gy.
Purpose: Radiation oncologists use radiation variably for children with metastatic rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS). Data from the European paediatric Soft tissue sarcoma Study Group (EpSSG) MTS 2008 study were retrospectively analyzed to validate the previous observation that the use of radiation is associated with improved outcomes and guide future recommendations on radiation use in this patient group.
Methods And Materials: The radiation delivered to 216 patients aged 0 to 21 years with metastatic RMS was retrospectively reviewed and classified as radical (all sites of disease irradiated within the protocol parameters), partial (some sites irradiated within the protocol parameters), and none (no radiation or delivered outside the protocol parameters).
Ferredoxins are a family of iron-sulfur (Fe-S) cluster proteins that serve as essential electron donors in numerous cellular processes that are conserved through evolution. There is a recognized deficiency pattern and correlation with prescribed radiotherapy dose; however, correlation with measured pituitary dose (which can be minimized with modern radiotherapy techniques) has not previously been assessed.
Procedure: Retrospective analysis was carried out of measured pituitary dose and endocrine outcomes of patients receiving cranial, total body, or head and neck photon beam radiotherapy at a tertiary center from July 2008 to October 2019.
Purpose: Outcome for patients with metastatic rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is poor. This study presents the results of the MTS 2008 study with a pooled analysis including patients from the concurrent BERNIE study.
Patients And Methods: In MTS 2008, patients with metastatic RMS received four cycles of ifosfamide, vincristine, and actinomycin D (IVA) plus doxorubicin, five cycles of IVA, and 12 cycles of maintenance chemotherapy (low-dose cyclophosphamide and vinorelbine).
Background: Adolescent and young adult patients with rhabdomyosarcoma often have poorer outcomes than do children. We aimed to compare the findings of adolescent and young adult patients with children enrolled in two prospective clinical protocols.

Purpose: There is limited evidence to define the role of radiation therapy in children with metastatic rhabdomyosarcoma (mRMS). Rhabdomyosarcoma is a heterogeneous disease both in presentation and histology. Improvements in a multimodality therapy resulted in the improved overall survival for patients with a low-risk and intermediate-risk disease but not for patients with a metastatic disease. We reviewed and contrasted the North American and European practice patterns, though ultimately the principles of staging, surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy are similar in both Children's Oncology Group and International Society of Paediatric Oncology treatment approaches.

Methods: Healthcare records from 105 TYA in a regional cancer service were assessed to document events from 1st symptom to treatment start. Detailed pathway construction was possible for 104 patients and allowed a multidisciplinary panel review of each pathway with assessment of good practice and lessons for the future.
Inhomogeneities in radiotherapy dose distributions covering the vertebrae in children can produce long-term spinal problems, including kyphosis, lordosis, scoliosis, and hypoplasia. In the published literature, many often interrelated variables have been reported to affect the extent of potential radiotherapy damage to the spine. Articles published in the 2D and 3D radiotherapy era instructed radiation oncologists to avoid dose inhomogeneity over growing vertebrae.

Questionnaires, focus groups, and interviews were undertaken with the following: patients (diagnosed ≥16 years, and aged 16-24 years at the time of study)-participation was 42 for questionnaire, 7 for focus group, and 6 for interview; family members/others in patients' lives ("networkers") (participation: 28, 0, and 4); and professionals (participation: 54, 0, and 97).
