  • Non-traumatic osteonecrosis is a serious condition involving bone death from reduced blood flow, and there are currently no effective medications to treat it.
  • Key mechanisms that contribute to this condition include lipid disorders, chronic inflammation, vascular issues, coagulopathy, and bone health disruptions, which offer potential targets for new drugs.
  • A multi-pathogenic approach is recommended for treatment, as different patients may have varying underlying causes, suggesting that personalized treatments will be more effective than a universal medication approach.
