Utilizing the sublingual form of squalene in COVID-19 patients: a randomized clinical trial.

In this study, the efficacy of sublingual squalene in decreasing the mortality rate among patients with COVID-19 was investigated. Squalene was extracted from pumpkin seed oil with a novel method. Then, the microemulsion form of squalene was prepared for sublingual usage.

Effects of Adding Oral Clonidine to Standard Treatments on Pain Intensity of Patients with Acute Renal Colic: A Randomized Clinical Trial.

Background: The aim of this study was to compare the effect of adding oral clonidine to standard treatments on pain intensity in patients with acute renal colic.

High temperatures can induce oxidative stress, impairment of spermatogenesis, and reduction of sperm quality and quantity concomitant with transient periods of partial or complete infertility in male mammals. Promising beneficial effects of betaine supplementation on the epididymal spermatozoa have been reported in experimental studies; however, its effects on testicular heat stress (HS)-induced impairment have yet to be determined. In the present study, betaine (Bet) was orally administrated (250 mg/kg day) during a 14-day period, before (Bet + HS group) or after (HS + Bet group) induction of testicular HS in 7-9 week-old male mice.

Phylogenetic relationships of Iranian infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) based on the glycoprotein gene.

Infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus (IHNV), a member of family Rhabdoviridae and genus Novirhabdoviridae, causes a highly lethal disease of salmon and trout. In Iran IHNV was first detected in 2001 on farms rearing rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). To evaluate the genetic relationships of IHNV from northern and western Iran, the sequences of a 651-nt region of the glycoprotein gene were determined for two Iranian isolates.
