Effect of Calcium Hydroxide Versus Double Antibiotic Paste on Endodontic Treatment Outcomes in Teeth With Large Periapical Lesions: A Triple-Blind Randomized Clinical Trial.

The successful management of necrotic pulps and apical periodontitis poses a tough challenge in endodontic therapy, as it involves addressing compromised tooth vitality and microbial invasion of root canal systems. Failure to effectively treat these conditions can lead to persistent infection and severe patient discomfort. The efficacy of double antibiotic paste (DAP), a mixture of ciprofloxacin and metronidazole, was evaluated and compared to calcium hydroxide (CH) by assessing radiographic and clinical outcomes of nonsurgical endodontic treatment in cases with necrotic pulps and the presence of apical periodontitis.

Development of a Thermoresponsive Core-Shell Hydrogel for Sequential Delivery of Antibiotics and Growth Factors in Regenerative Endodontics.

Background: Regenerative endodontics requires an innovative delivery system to release antibiotics/growth factors in a sequential trend. This study focuses on developing/characterizing a thermoresponsive core-shell hydrogel designed for targeted drug delivery in endodontics.

The aim of the current study was to explore how effective visual biofeedback could improve fine motor function in the hand and ADL for people suffering from a stroke.

Efficacy of the Orifice-Level Passive Ultrasonic Activation Technique in Removing Debris from Mandibular Molars: An Ex Vivo Study.

This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of the orifice-level passive ultrasonic activation (OL-PUA) technique in removing debris from the mesial root canals of mandibular molars, besides comparing it with other approaches, including manual dynamic agitation (MDA), EndoActivator, and laser-activated irrigation (LAI). Ninety mesial roots of mandibular molars were prepared up to 25.06 using the Race rotary system, filled with 3% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), and then they were randomly assigned to 5 groups (n=15) based on the activation protocol: MDA, EndoActivator, OL-PUA, LAI (using a diode laser), and needle irrigation (no activation).

Adjunctive therapy for root coverage with concentrated growth factor versus platelet-rich fibrin membranes: a systematic review and bayesian network meta-analysis.

Objectives: To assess the differences between adjunctive therapy with Concentrated Growth Factor (CGF), Platelet-rich Fibrin (PRF) membranes, and available control groups in the clinical outcomes of root coverage.

Materials And Methods: Randomized controlled clinical trials (RCTs) were identified in Pubmed/Medline, Scopus, and ISI Web of Science databases to assess the treatments after 6 months using a Bayesian random-effect network meta-analysis (NMA) framework regarding reduction in pocket depth (PD), clinical attachment loss (CAL), recession depth (RD), and width (RW), as well as, keratinized tissue width (KTW) and thickness (KTT) gain, and complete (CRC) and mean (MRC) root coverage percentages.

Results: Thirty-two RCTs were included, from which 27, 18, 12, eight, one, and one studies investigated PRF, connective tissue graft (CTG), flap alone, CGF, enamel matrix derivative (EMD), and dehydrated amniotic membrane, respectively.

Investigating Combined Balance Training and Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation for the Recovery of Postural Control Following Chronic Stroke: A Study Protocol.

Introduction: Stroke is one of the most debilitating diseases among adults worldwide and leads to persistent rehabilitation needs even at the chronic stage. Achieving good postural control is a critical requirement for daily activities which enhances quality of life (QoL) in patients with stroke. There is increasing evidence that transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) can be considered a promising adjunct technique to improve motor recovery after stroke.

The effect of cold plasma on the treatment of external otitis: an experimental study in rats.

In this paper we investigate the influence of cold plasma as novel method on the external otitis treatment which is a frequent cause of earache. 24 infected external auditory canals in 24 rats were categorized in four experimental groups including control, plasma exposed, ciprofloxacin drug and mixed of plasma-ciprofloxacin groups. In plasma group, dielectric barrier discharge was employed as the source of cold plasma in 5 days.

Application of zero-inflated Poisson model with heterogeneous random effects to evaluate the effect of oral health education on pregnant women's dental caries: A longitudinal experimental study.

Background: Pregnant women have poor knowledge of oral hygiene during pregnancy. One problem with the follow-up of dental caries in this group is zero accumulation in the decayed, missing, and filled teeth (DMFT) index, for which some models must be used to achieve valid results. The studied population may be heterogeneous in longitudinal studies, leading to biased estimates.

Purpose: One of the most obvious functional effects of aging on the cognitive and processing processes of spatial hearing is the localization problem and the disorder of speech perception in noise. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the performance of dynamic spatial auditory processing in the elderly.

Methods: This descriptive and analytical study was conducted on 60 young participants aged from18 to 25 years old and 60 elderly participants aged from 60 to 75 old years, using speech, spatial, and qualities of hearing scale (SSQ) questionnaire, binaural masking level difference (BMLD) and dynamic quick speech in noise (DS-QSIN) tests.

Purpose: The objective of this randomized controlled trial was to investigate the impact of manual therapy (friction massage) and pelvic floor muscle (PFM) training on erectile dysfunction (ED), pelvic floor muscle thickness, and blood flow in the penile arteries and veins in men who have undergone prostatic adenectomy (PA).
