The role of glutathione in yeast dehydration tolerance.

Among the factors that affect cell resistance against dehydration, oxidation is considered to be of great importance. In this work, we verified that both control and glutathione deficient mutant strains were much more oxidized after dehydration. Moreover, cells lacking glutathione showed a twofold higher increase in oxidation and lipid peroxidation than the control strain.
