Objective: To assess the safety climate from the perspective of health professionals in the inpatient and intensive care units of a public hospital specialized in cardiology, in the city of Rio de Janeiro.

Methods: Quantitative, exploratory, descriptive study, using the Safety Attitudes Questionnaire. The findings were analyzed according to descriptive and inferential statistics, with a significance level of 5%.
