Sex identification of the ornamental amazon fish Astronotus ocellatus by videoceloscopy and gonadal biopsy.

This study was conducted to evaluate and validate the efficacy and safety of videoceloscopy and gonadal biopsy as sexing methods for the A. ocellatus. A total of 31 adult individuals were used.

Anxiety-associated behavior and genotoxicity found in adult Danio rerio exposed to tebuconazole-based commercial product.

The effects of different concentrations of commercial product based on tebuconazole, on adults of Danio rerio, were evaluated through novel tank diving test and micronucleus and comet assay tests. A total of 320 adult D. rerio were divided into eight tanks and exposed to concentrations of 0; 100; 200 and 300 μg/L the commercial product based on tebuconazole, with their respective replicates at 24, 72 and 96 h.

Complexes between methyltestosterone and β-cyclodextrin for application in aquaculture production.

The inclusion complexes between 17-α-methyltestosterone (MT) and β-cyclodextrin (bCD) were prepared and characterized in dissolution and solid phase. The complex promoted a sixfold increment in solubility of the hormone. It has a limited solubility and stoichiometry of 2:1 (bCD:MT) determined by DSC, NMR and solubility experiments, the association constant Ka=2846Lmol and complex fraction of 76% (assessed by DOSY-NMR, in (1:3) DMSO/DO).
