Electrical erosion molding (EDM) is an unconventional machining technology widely used in the manufacture of injection molds for plastics injection molding for the creation of complex cavities and geometries. However, EDM productivity can be challenging, directly influencing mold manufacturing time and cost. This work aims to improve EDM productivity in the context of mold manufacturing for plastics injection molding.

Influence of Machining Parameters on the Dimensional Accuracy of Drilled Holes in Engineering Plastics.

This paper explores the interaction between cutting parameters and the geometric accuracy of machined holes in a variety of engineering plastics, with the aim of improving manufacturing processes in the plastic processing industry. In the context of fast and precise manufacturing technology, the accuracy of drilled holes in polymers is of paramount importance, given their essential role in the assembly and functionality of finished parts. The objective of this research was to determine the influence of cutting speed and feed rate on the diameter and cylindricity of machined holes in six diverse types of plastics using a multilevel factorial design for analysis.

Determination of Processing Precision of Hole in Industrial Plastic Materials.

The precision of the thread processed by tapping is closely related to the precision of the pre-drilling of the blank. Currently, the technologies for processing threads with the tap in the case of metals are well established. In this sense, there are tables and clear recommendations about the tool pairs-helical drill-tap, depending on the size of the thread, but in the case of plastics, no correlations or recommendations have been found.

The research consists in applying the process of cutting metallic materials through electrical discharge machining with contact breaking using a metal band as a transfer object. The research was implemented with the help of a specially designed installation in the laboratory and subsequently all the necessary steps were taken to obtain the patent for it.

Impact of a Healing Garden on Self-Consciousness in Patients with Advanced Alzheimer's Disease: An Exploratory Study1.

Background: The environment of patients with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders (ADRD) intensifies the consequences of cognitive impairment and exacerbates behavioral problems if inappropriate or, conversely, mitigate these problems if its design is tailored to the needs of these persons.

Objective: We evaluate the impacts of hospitalization and of a specific healing garden on self-consciousness which represent a central impairment in ADRD. The self-consciousness questionnaire (SCQ), validated for its assessment at mild to moderate phases of the disease, explores the dimensions of personal identity, awareness of cognitive deficiencies, self-assessment of affective state, awareness of body representation, prospective memory, capacity for introspection, and moral judgments.

Evaluation of the GeneXpert MTB/RIF assay on extrapulmonary and respiratory samples other than sputum: a low burden country experience.

The aim of this study was to assess the performance of the GeneXpert MTB/RIF assay on extrapulmonary (EP) and respiratory (non-sputum) clinical samples of patients suspected of having tuberculosis (TB) from Queensland, Australia. A total of 269 EP and respiratory (non-sputum) clinical samples collected from Qld patients who were suspected of having TB were subjected to the GeneXpert MTB/RIF analysis, Ziehl-Neelsen (ZN) staining, Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) culture and drug susceptibility testing. Phenotypic and genotypic data were compared.

The benefits of green space in urban environments has been demonstrated with regards to physical, psychological and sociological effects and similarly studies in hospitals have revealed objective and measurable improvements of patients well being.
