It is acknowledged that the treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) represents an important challenge for rhinology and for social and economic life. At present, one of the most common treatments for CRS is represented by local corticosteroids followed by endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS). Starting from the example of the mesenchymal stem cell's (MSC) capacity to migrate and to modulate a real response in the nasal mucosa of an allergic rhinitis mouse model, we try to obtain a response in a CRS mouse model, using MSC derived by adipose tissue.

Purpose: The aim of the present study was to assess if the combined therapy of intratympanic dexamethasone (ITD) and high dosage of betahistine (HDBH) is able to provide increased vertigo control compared to ITD alone in patients suffering from definite unilateral Meniere's disease (MD).

Materials And Methods: Consecutive MD patients were enrolled and randomly divided in two groups, each comprising 33 cases. Group A received a combination of ITD and identical-appearing placebo pills while Group B received a combination of ITD and HDBH.

Objectives/hypothesis: Proper wound healing following endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS) is influenced by several factors, like cigarette smoke (CS) exposure. This study aims to assess the influence of cigarette smoke on the healing of induced septal mucosal lesion in rats.

Methods: Unilateral nasal wounds were created by means of the interdental brush in seventy-four-week-old male rats.

Purpose: The objective of our randomized, double-blind study was to compare the effectiveness of intratympanic (IT) dexamethasone versus high-dosage of betahistine in the treatment of patients with intractable unilateral Meniere disease (MD).

Materials And Methods: Sixty six patients with definite unilateral MD were randomly divided in two groups: Group A received a combination of IT dexamethasone (DX) and identical-appearing placebo pills while Group B received a combination of high-dosage betahistine and IT saline. Intratympanic injections were repeated for three times with an interlude of 3days.

Objective: Endoscopic microdebrider-assisted inferior turbinoplasty (EMAIT) has been recognized as an efficient surgical technique in the management of hypertrophied inferior turbinate. In an attempt to further increase surgical successful outcomes, posterior nasal neurectomy (PNN) was developed. The aim of this retrospective case-control study was to assess the position of PNN in the surgery of hypertrophied turbinate.
