Nanoscale solvent organization in metal-organic framework ZIF-8 probed by EPR of flexible β-phosphorylated nitroxides.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) draw increasing attention as nanoenvironments for chemical reactions, especially in the field of catalysis. Knowing the specifics of MOF cavities is decisive in many of these cases; yet, obtaining them remains very challenging. We report the first direct assessment of the apparent polarity and solvent organization inside MOF cavities using a dedicated structurally flexible spin probe.

Structural Anomaly in Glasses: Molecular Dynamics Study of Organic Radical in Dibutylphthalate at Different Temperatures.

Understanding the heterogeneous nano/microscopic structures of various organic glasses is fundamental and necessary for many applications. Recently, unusual structural phenomena have been observed experimentally in various organic glasses near their glass transition temperatures (Tg), including dibutyl phthalate (DBP). In particular, the librational motion of radical probe in the glass is progressively suppressed upon temperature increase.

Inherent heterogeneities and nanostructural anomalies in organic glasses revealed by EPR.

Intriguing heterogeneities and nanostructural reorganizations of glassy ionic liquids (ILs) have recently been found using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy. Alkyl chains of IL cations play the key role in such phenomena and govern the anomalous temperature dependence of local density and molecular mobility. In this paper we evidence and study similar manifestations in a variety of common non-IL glasses, which also contain molecules with alkyl chains.

The aim of the study was to assess the effectiveness and safety of stress-EchoCG by means of programmed high-frequency cardiac stimulation with the implanted PM for patients with single-chamber PECS and complaints of apnea.

[Effects of gastric mucosa irradiation with helium-neon laser on epithelial cells].

Effect of various doses of low-tense laser irradiation on proliferative and functional morphology of fundal gastric epitheliocytes in rats was studied by endogastric irradiation with the methods of histochemistry, autoradiography, transmission and scanning electron microscopy. It was shown that laser irradiation effect varied with its dose and was spread on gastric mucosa lying at the site of direct influence. The doses of irradiation that had no alternative effect induced reconstruction of epitheliocytes especially mucocytes indicating intensification of specific function in them, as well as an increase of proliferative activity.
