Orthodontic tooth movement (OTM) is a critical process in dental alignment, driven by the application of calibrated orthodontic forces. This study delves into the intricate molecular and cellular mechanisms by which vitamin D3 influences OTM. Vitamin D3 is identified as a critical regulator in bone metabolism, enhancing osteoblast activity and bone formation while also modulating osteoclast quantity and RANKL expression, essential for the remodeling of the alveolar bone.

Since LS-SVM uses a set of linear equations instead of a convex quadratic programming problem, the computational cost is extremely reduced compared to that of the well-known Monte Carlo (MC) analysis or even Support Vector Machine (SVM) without decreasing the accuracy. Using this method, the geometrical parameters of the coupled-line are assumed to be randomly distributed using the Latin Hypercube function and the variation range of each parameter is set to ± 50% around its central value.

Detection of visible light is a key component in material characterization techniques and often a key component of quality or purity control analyses for health and safety applications. Here in this work, to enable visible light detection at gigahertz frequencies, a planar microwave resonator is integrated with high aspect ratio TiO nanotube (TNT) layer-sensitized CdS coating using the atomic layer deposition (ALD) technique. This unique method of visible light detection with microwave-based sensing improves integration of the light detection devices with digital technology.

This method expands the differential equations of voltage and current as the slope functions. Then, differential equations are solved using the explicit Runge-Kutta technique with the fourth-order method with four stages.

DNA vaccines encoding complex of different antigens showed better immune responses compared to single antigen vaccine. In this study, we constructed a DNA vaccine encoding SAG1, SAG3, MIC4, GRA5, GRA7, AMA1 and BAG1 against T.

The aim was the identification of Fas/Fas Ligand (FasL) role in lung involvement and mortality of COVID-19 patients. In this case-control study, mild (outpatient), moderate (hospitalized), and severe (ICU) COVID-19 patients and healthy subjects were investigated.

Objective: Neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction (NLUTD), a challenging disorder, is defined by lack of bladder control due to the abnormalities in neural pathways and can be classified based on the location of lesions within the nervous system, thus investigating the neural pathways can help us to know the site of the lesion and specify the class of the NLUTD. Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) tractography, a noninvasive advanced imaging method, is capable of detecting central nervous system pathologies, even if routine magnetic resonance imaging shows no abnormality. Accordingly, tractography is an ideal technique to evaluate patients with NLUTD and visualize the pathology site within the spine.

Over the past decade, the interaction of Sor and NKC against HCC has been widely challenging. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of NKC & Sor for the treatment of HCC in vivo.

This work presents a passive gold coplanar waveguide split ring resonator integrated with anodic self-organized TiO nanotube (TNT) membranes with a thickness of 20 μm to provide real-time UV detection. The resonator operated as a one-port device to capture the reflection coefficient () signal, with a center frequency of 16 GHz and a notch amplitude of -88 dB.

A total of 453 lymphoma cases, identified retrospectively from January 2000 to October 2011, were studied to identify the subtype distribution of lymphoma in our center, located in southern Iran, according to the latest WHO classification. The most common sites of involvement of all lymphomas were extranodal (59.

Objective: This study was aimed to investigate the success of applying collagen scaffold alone and platelet-rich plasma (PRP)+collagen scaffold in prevention of zoledronic acid-induced BRONJ in the rat.
Methods: A total of 17 male Wistar-rats were treated with 4 weekly doses of zoledronic acid.
Purpose: We tried to investigate the role of Schwann and satellite cells in the treatment of neurogenic bladder and bowel dysfunction; following spinal cord injury in the rabbit model.
Methods: Twelve male New Zealand rabbits underwent induction of neurogenic bladder by spinal cord injury. Rabbits underwent the fiber tractography analysis to confirm the induction of spinal cord injury.
Introduction: Children with refractory constipation might not respond to conventional medical treatments. In this study, we assessed the effectiveness of intrarectal botulinum toxin type A/electromotive drug administration (BoNTA/EMDA) on constipation in these children and compared its efficacy with routine intrasphincteric BoNTA injection.
Methods: From 2017 to 2019, 60 children aged 5-13 years who fulfilled Rome III criteria for intractable constipation were enrolled and randomly assigned into 2 treatment groups.
Background: Bone tissue is one of the tissues that are capable of self-regeneration. However, bone self-regeneration is defeated in the case of broad lesion of bone structure. Isolated stem cells from wisdom tooth follicles can potentially differentiate into ectodermal and mesodermal cells.

Background: Antiretroviral medications have improved the survival and life quality of people living with HIV and turned HIV into a chronic controllable disease. However, the success of HIV treatment depends on many factors; patient adherence is one the most important indicators. In this study, we explored the potential barriers to an effective adherence antiretroviral therapy (ART) among the HIV-positive prisoners of Ghezel-Hesar prison, Iran.

It employs a combination of iontophoresis, electrophoresis, and electroporation to deliver drugs into deep tissue layers using an electrical current created between 2 electrodes. This video shows feasibility of botulinum toxin type A (BoNTA) EMDA in myelomeningocele children with urinary incontinence secondary to neuropathic detrusor overactivity.

Initially, 16 Sprague-Dawley rats were allocated into 4 groups: group 1 (control), group 2 (CP) in which HC was induced by cyclophosphamide; group 3 (CP+M), HC-induced rats that received Mesna regimen, and group 4 (CP+P), which compromised rats that had been on a 14-day diet of pomegranate juice before HC induction. Cystometry was performed a few hours before euthanasia; after euthanasia, aortic blood samples and bladder tissue samples were obtained to perform TUNEL assay, and histopathologic and biochemical assessments.

Of the 40 rats, 10 served as controls and the remaining underwent bilateral PNT at the anastomotic lumbosacral trunk level. Urethral morphological changes following bilateral PNT were assessed with serial hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining methods at 50, 90, and 130 days post-intervention.

Background And Purpose: In patients with locally advanced rectal cancer, neoadjuvant long course (45-54 Gy in 25-30 fractions) chemoradiotherapy (CRT) may reduce tumour size and result in downstaging. In patients with primary resectable tumour short course (25 Gy in 5 fractions) radiotherapy (SCRT) reduces local recurrence but downstaging the disease or altering tumour size has not been described. We aimed to assess change in tumour size on MRI after SCRT or CRT.
