Modeling tools aim to predict potential drug side effects, although they suffer from imperfect performance. Specifically, protein-protein interaction models predict drug effects from proteins surrounding drug targets, but they tend to overpredict drug phenotypes and require well-defined pathway phenotypes. In this study, we used PathFX, a protein-protein interaction tool, to predict side effects for active ingredient-side effect pairs extracted from drug labels.

Their typical structure of truncated cone can host a wide variety of guest molecules to create inclusion complexes; indeed, we daily use CD as unseen components of food, cosmetics, textiles and pharmaceutical excipients. The synthesis of active material composites from CD resources can enable or enlarge the effective utilization of these products in the battery industry with some economical as well as environmental benefits.

Risk factors include recent surgery, prolonged immobility, oral contraceptive use, and active cancer. Inherited risks include protein C and S deficiencies, antithrombin deficiency, factor V Leiden mutation and prothrombin.

Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome and Shiga toxin E-coli-related hemolytic uremic syndrome are the three common forms of TMAs. Traditionally, TMA is encountered during pregnancy/postpartum period, malignant hypertension, systemic infections, malignancies, autoimmune disorders, etc.

While angiosarcoma and intimal sarcomas represent an estimated 67.7% of malignant aortic tumours, spindle cell sarcomas are even more exclusive, consisting of only 0.

Here, we present a case of propylthiouracil (PTU)-induced AAV presenting initially with red eye, and review important diagnostic and management considerations for this uncommon disorder. CASE REPORT A 34-year-old woman with hyperthyroidism taking PTU presented with red eye, later followed by fevers and hemoptysis.

We present a patient who developed ICS due to the interaction between cobicistat and triamcinolone, a review of the literature, and what to our knowledge is the first case of ICS presenting as a pulmonary embolism.
Case Presentation: A 55-year old male with a past medical history of human immunodeficiency virus, undetectable for 15 years and currently on elvitegravir/cobicistat/emtricitabine/tenofovir alafenamide, received 2 intra-articular injections of triamcinolone one month apart for a Baker's cyst in his right knee.
Amiodarone is a class III antiarrhythmic agent that inhibits adrenergic stimulation by blocking alpha and beta receptors. It prolongs action potential and refractory period in myocardial tissue. Its remarkably long half-life is associated with a myriad of adverse events.

However, more rarely, hemophilia can be acquired. Our paper focuses on acquired hemophilia A (AHA), which is caused by the development of an autoantibody (an inhibitor) to factor VIII.

To minimize cardiac mortality, these patients frequently require various cardiac devices, such as pacemakers, loop recorders, and defibrillators which can compromise their vascular access. In this study, we aim to determine the prevalence of CKD in patients undergoing cardiac device placement and their progression of CKD.

It is one of the complications of anticoagulation therapy, including direct anticoagulant medications. CASE REPORT Here, we present a case of a 68-year-old female with recent right knee arthroplasty who was on rivaroxaban for deep vein thrombosis (DVT) prophylaxis presented to the emergency department (ED) for severe acute onset abdominal pain, computed tomography (CT) of abdomen and pelvis revealed possible left adrenal hemorrhage that was confirmed with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA novel oxygen selective highly hydrophobic membrane is prepared by non-solvent induced phase separation in which a dextrin-based nanosponge is incorporated into a poly(vinylidene fluoride co-hexafluoropropylene) (PVDF-HFP) matrix. The membrane presents high capability to entrap moisture from air as well as good hydrophobic behaviour. The membrane was assembled in a pouch type Li-air cell, which was cycled in a galvanostatic mode at curtailed capacity, in air with 17% relative humidity (RH).

Preterms with severe intrauterine growth restriction are doubly jeopardized given their compromised brains. The Newborn Individualized Developmental Care and Assessment Program improved outcome at early school-age for preterms with appropriate intrauterine growth.

We studied a 33-year-old right-handed man, with a normal MRI scan, who developed left frontal lobe seizures at age 15 years. Language lateralization testing by intracarotid amobarbital injection and dichotic listening showed the patient to be strongly right hemisphere language dominant.

Although the etiology of transplant fibrosis is uncertain, several possible factors including chronic cyclosporin A (CsA) exposure may contribute to its pathogenesis. CsA stimulates renal fibrosis perhaps through the induction of the potent pro-sclerotic growth factor, transforming growth factor beta (TGFbeta).
