Mycotic aneurysm secondary to tuberculous infection (TB) of the aorta is a rare and life-threatening disease. We report a case report of a 78-year-old woman with a tuberculous mycotic aortic aneurysm (TBAA). Early diagnosis and a combination of surgical intervention (aortic reconstruction and extensive excision of the infected field) and prolonged antituberculous drug therapy provide long-term survival without evidence of recurrence after tuberculous aortic involvement.

After such procedures a simple clinical examination may show the presence of an inguinal mass, but does not permit a diagnosis, while Color Doppler and Duplex Scanner can make a differential diagnosis between hematoma, pseudoaneurysm, arteriovenous fistula or other disease. Color Doppler is ubiquitously used to diagnose such complications as it offers a low-cost, easy-to-use method, only minimally uncomfortable for the patient.

The common hepatic artery aneurysms (HAA) are uncommon atherosclerotic lesions and often they are clinically silent. In addition, an association between CMV infection and thrombotic events in immunocompetent hosts has been sporadically reported. We present a case of a previously healthy woman with venous thromboembolic event during acute CMV infection and the presence of anti-cardiolipin IgM antibodies.
