Objective: Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common primary malignant neoplasm of the central nervous system (CNS). Despite the progress in therapeutic strategies such as surgical techniques, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and targeted therapy, prognosis and therapeutically convenient monitoring tools in patients with GBM has not improved significantly up to now.Therefore, exosomal miRNAs as novel non-invasive biomarkers having high sensitivity and specificity are required to improve diagnosis and to develop new targeted therapy strategies for GBM patients.

There is no consensus regarding the clinical significance of CD44 and CD24 as cancer stem cell (CSC) marker in colorectal cancer (CRC). A total of 494 CRC samples (2008-2017) were assessed for CD44 (epithelial isoform) and CD24 expression using tissue microarray. Opportunistic isosporidial infection of the gastrointestinal tract is frequently encountered in patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and is considered to be an AIDS-defining illness. Chronic severe watery diarrhea due to Isospora belli has also been reported in other immunodeficiency states. This report describes severe chronic debilitating diarrhea due to isosporiasis in a patient with mediastinal thymoma, a common tumor of the anterior mediastinum, originating from the epithelial cells of the thymus.
