A Systemic Review and Meta-analysis of Laparoscopic Surgery Versus Open Surgery for Gallbladder Cancer.

Introduction: Laparoscopy in gallbladder cancer (GBC) has a possible role in staging, radical cure, and palliation in gallbladder cancer. However, a few studies have advocated the use of laparoscopic approach and concluded the safety of this approach. This present study was undertaken to determine the safety and feasibility between open and laparoscopic cholecystectomy in patients with the non-metastatic GBC.

On the dynamic reconfigurable implementations of MISTY1 and KASUMI block ciphers.

Novel hardware architectures for dynamic reconfigurable implementation of 64-bit MISTY1 and KASUMI block ciphers are proposed to enhance the performance of cryptographic chips for secure IoT applications. The SRL32 primitive (Reconfigurable Look up Tables-RLUTs) and DPR (Dynamic Partial Reconfiguration) are employed to reconfigure single round MISTY1 / KASUMI algorithms on the run-time. The RLUT based architecture attains dynamic logic functionality without extra hardware resources by internally modifying the LUT contents.

Prognostic Value of Tumor Markers in Gastric Cancer: A Tertiary Cancer Centre Experience.

Objectives: Gastric cancer is a heterogeneous malignancy in terms of stage-wise prognosis. This study aimed at finding any prognostic significance of preoperative carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and cancer antigen (CA) 19-9 in resectable gastric cancer.

Methods: A total of 57 patients at Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bengaluru, India from January 2022 to March 2023 were included in this observational prospective study.

A Study of Morphological Characteristics of Lung Fissures and Trachea in the Indian Population.

Unlabelled: Tracheal length and lung anatomy have been rarely studied; however, the anatomy of the lung has been shown to vary significantly. Moreover, the surgery regarding trachea are few, and hence the surgeons do not have extensive experience in the trachea.

Objective: We aimed to study the variations of the lung anatomy and the relation between tracheal length and body height in the Indian population.

Role of Mean Platelet Volume in the Prognosis of Gallbladder Carcinoma: A Tertiary Centre Experience.

Mean platelet volume (MPV) is an inflammatory marker indicative of platelet activation. There are several studies that suggest an association between the neoplastic process and cancer metastasis. We performed a retrospective analysis to investigate the role of MPV as a prognostic informative marker in gallbladder cancer.

Collective Motion and Self-Organization of a Swarm of UAVs: A Cluster-Based Architecture.

This study proposes a collective motion and self-organization control of a swarm of 10 UAVs, which are divided into two clusters of five agents each. A cluster is a group of UAVs in a dedicated area and multiple clusters make a swarm. This paper designs the 3D model of the whole environment by applying graph theory.

A Prospective Study Comparing Laparoscopic vs. Conventional Stomach Pull Up in Total Pharyngo-Laryngo-Esophagectomy for Post Cricoid Cancer.

The aim of this study is to compare laparoscopic and conventional techniques following Total Pharyngo-laryngo-esophagectomy (TPLE) with respect to perioperative morbidity and mortality and postoperative recovery in post cricoid cancer patients. This is a prospective study, which was undertaken in Gujrat Cancer Research Institute (GCRI) in the period of July 2007 to March 2010. Fifteen consecutive patients who underwent laparoscopic TPLE were compared to that of 18 consecutive patients who underwent open TPLE.

Old is gold: Krukenberg operation performed in a tertiary setup in India for the rehabilitation of the amputated hand of a poor patient.

It is a known fact that a disabled person is a greater burden to society than a dead person. Krukenberg operation, first described by German army surgeon in 1917, Hermann Krukenberg, converts a forearm stump into a pincer, so as to retain some dexterity of the hand rather than it being reduced to a mere stump. We report this case of Krukenberg operation performed in a tertiary care setup, wherein an amputated forearm stump was converted into a functional pincer that can result in huge advantage for poor amputee patients in developing countries who rely heavily on the functionality of their hands to earn their everyday meal and are unable to bear the expense of costly prosthesis.

Fuzzy-Based Hybrid Control Algorithm for the Stabilization of a Tri-Rotor UAV.

In this paper, a new and novel mathematical fuzzy hybrid scheme is proposed for the stabilization of a tri-rotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The fuzzy hybrid scheme consists of a fuzzy logic controller, regulation pole-placement tracking (RST) controller with model reference adaptive control (MRAC), in which adaptive gains of the RST controller are being fine-tuned by a fuzzy logic controller. Brushless direct current (BLDC) motors are installed in the triangular frame of the tri-rotor UAV, which helps maintain control on its motion and different altitude and attitude changes, similar to rotorcrafts.
