In this article, we present a new method for the generation of surface meshes of biological soft tissue. The method is based on the deformable surface model technique and is extended to histological data sets. It relies on an iterative adjustment towards polygonal segments describing the histological structures of the soft tissue.

Light microscopy provides access to biochemical data by the application of dyes. Ultrastructural representation of the surface structure of tissues, cells, or macromolecules can be obtained by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

The relationship of proliferation markers with the grading of dysplasia is uncertain. The involvement of EBV in oral carcinogenesis is not fully understood.

Human collagenase-3 (MMP-13) is a member of matrix metalloproteinase family of enzymes that was originally identified in breast carcinomas and subsequently detected during fetal ossification and in arthritic processes.
Aim: The present study was designed to investigate the expression MMP-13 and to correlate its expression with clinicopathological parameters in chondrosarcoma of the jaws.
Introduction: Melanocytes in skin are derived from the neural crest and colonize the epidermis in the first trimester of gestation. Melanocytes have been observed in the nasopharyngeal, inner ear and oral mucosa and should therefore be present in the middle ear mucosa.
Aims: To identify and determine the distribution of melanocytes in human cholesteatoma and normal meatal skin in Caucasian adults.
