Background: As a multifunctional ecosystem, the human digestive system contains a complex network of microorganisms, collectively known as gut microbiota. This consortium composed of more than 10 microorganisms and Firmicutes and Bacteroidetes are the dominant microbes. Gut microbiota is increasingly recognized for its critical role in physiological processes beyond digestion.

Background Stapes surgery success depends on several factors, including the length of the prosthesis used. Whether to use a standard-size prosthesis or measure the length of the stapes prosthesis has been debated in the literature. This study aims to assess the surgical outcomes of a stapedotomy using the standard 4.

Today, hydrogen is one of the most credible options for a non-polluting, carbon-free energy carrier. Hydrogen can be obtained or produced by different means from different renewable energy sources and can be stored in solid, liquid, or gaseous form. Storing hydrogen in complex hydrides in solid form is one of the most efficient methods of storage because they are secure, offer high hydrogen capacity, and demand optimal functioning conditions.

Aim: This study aimed to find the effect of hypothyroidism in men on metabolism and bone mineral density.

Method: The study included a patients group of 90 men suffering from hypothyroidism and 120 healthy subjects as a control group. The study comprised the estimation of the concentration of Blood free triiodothyronine (FT3), free thyroid hormone (FT4), thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), bone resorption index type I collagen C-terminal peptide (CTX-1), the serum calcium (Ca2+), serum phosphorus (Pi3+), the bone mineral density of the lumbar spine and femoral neck.

RNA variants that emerge from editing and alternative splicing form important regulatory stages in protein signalling. In this report, we apply an integrated DNA and RNA variant detection workbench to define the range of RNA variants that deviate from the reference genome in a human melanoma cell model. The RNA variants can be grouped into (i) classic ADAR-like or APOBEC-like RNA editing events and (ii) multiple-nucleotide variants (MNVs) including three and six base pair in-frame non-canonical unmapped exons.

Instrument fracture during procedure is not uncommon for dental surgeons, especially in root canal surgeries, usually inside the root canals. In rare instances, high-speed rotary instruments can be fractured and can be dislodged in key anatomical areas of face. In our case report, a high-speed dental burr most probably penetrated the root and was seen in the left maxillary sinus during a likely routine dental procedure.
