Differentiation of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis using intestinal wall thickness of the colon: A Diagnostic accuracy study of endoscopic ultrasonography.

The differentiation between Ulcerative Colitis (UC) and Crohn's Disease (CD) is an important issue for choosing the appropriate treatment. Endoscopic Ultrasonography (EUS) has been used to distinguish different layers of the gastrointestinal wall. We performed this study to evaluate the accuracy of EUS in differentiating colonic UC from CD compared to standard tests (colonoscopy, pathology, imaging, and clinical presentation).

Clinical and Pathological Features of Ulcerative Colitis in Patients with and without Infection; An Observational Study.

BACKGROUND A dramatic rise in the rate of infection (CDI) in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has been reported in recent years. METHODS In this observational case control study, 65 patients were included and were divided into two groups of IBD + CDI as case group and IBD without CDI as control group. RESULTS 35 patients who had positive test for were assigned to the case group.

Downward vertical gaze palsy as a prominent manifestation of episodic ataxia type 2: a case report.

Episodic ataxia type 2 (EA2) is an inherited autosomal dominant disorder characterized by intermittent ataxia, nausea, vomiting, dysarthria, or nystagmus. We report a case of EA2, which downward gaze palsy exists as a common sign in all her attacks. Responsiveness of EA2 to acetazolamide was observed in this patient.

CNS structural anomalies in Iranian children with global developmental delay.

Objective: Central Nervous system (CNS) malformations are one of the most important causes of global developmental delay (GDD) in Children. About one percent of infants with GDD have an inherited metabolic disorder and 3-10 percent have a chromosomal disorder. This study aimed to survey the frequency of brain structural anomalies and their subtypes among the variety of etiologic factors in children with GDD in our patients.
