Comparison of serum levels of interleukin 33 in combination with serum levels of C-reactive protein, Immunoglobulin G, Immunoglobulin A, and Immunoglobulin M in recurrent pregnancy loss: A case-control study.

Background: One of the critical cases of recurrent pregnancy loss is immunological factors, whereas obtaining effective prevention or treatment is necessary for cognition of reasons.

Objective: In this study, we tried to evaluate some immunological factors related to recurrent pregnancy loss.

Materials And Methods: This case-control study was conducted on 66 women at the age of 18-35 yr who were referred to the Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Ali Ibn Abi Taleb hospital, Zahedan, Iran, from August-December 2019.

Theory and generation of heterogeneous 2D arrays of optical vortices by using 2D fork-shaped gratings: topological charge and power sharing management.

In this work, by providing comprehensive theoretical foundations, we revisit and improve a simple and efficient method that has been used for generation of 2D orthogonal arrays of optical vortices with components having different topological charges (TCs). This method has been implemented by the diffraction of a plane wave from 2D gratings where the gratings' profiles are determined by iterative computational process. Here, based on the theoretical predictions, specifications of the diffraction gratings can be easily adjusted in a way to generate experimentally a heterogeneous vortex array with the desired power shares among different elements of the array.

Ultrahigh-dynamic-range wavefront sensor based on absolute double-slit interferometry.

This Letter reports a new, to the best of our knowledge, technique for the quality testing of steep optical samples by introducing an absolute interferometry method based on a double-slit interference experiment. We determine the quality of the sample with an ultrahigh-dynamic-range wavefront sensor by determining the deformation of the central fringe of the double-slit interferometer recorded for two different separations of the slits. The transmission function of the double slit is implemented on an amplitude spatial light modulator.

Evaluation of Physical, Mechanical and Antibacterial Properties of Pinto Bean Starch-Polyvinyl Alcohol Biodegradable Films Reinforced with Cinnamon Essential Oil.

In the present study, various blended films from polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and pinto bean starch (PBS) were prepared and the selected film was used to fabricate an antimicrobial packaging film. Different essential oils (EOs) were also exposed to minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) tests to find the most efficient EO against a range of microorganisms. From the primary studies, the PVA:PBS (80:20) and cinnamon essential oil (CEO) were chosen.

Synthesis of nano magnetic supported NHC-palladium and investigation of its applications as a catalyst in the Mizoroki-Heck cross-coupling reaction in HO.

The unique properties of N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) as an effective ligand for palladium catalytic centers have recently found much attention. In this work, FeO nanoparticle supported palladium(II)-N-heterocyclic carbene catalyst was successfully designed, synthesized and characterized by various methods. The activity of the catalyst was evaluated in the Mizoroki-Heck cross-coupling reaction in which the desired products were obtained in high yield in HO as a green solvent.

Gear-like rotatable optical trapping with radial carpet beams.

Optical tweezers have become a powerful tool in the fields of biology, soft condensed matter physics, and nanotechnology. Here, we report the use of recently introduced radial carpet beams (RCBs) in the optical tweezers setup to trap multiple particles. An RCB is produced by diffraction of a plane or Gaussian beam from an amplitude radial grating.

An azimuthally-modified linear phase grating: Generation of varied radial carpet beams over different diffraction orders with controlled intensity sharing among the generated beams.

Diffraction gratings are important optical components and are used in many areas of optics such as in spectroscopy. A diffraction grating is a periodic structure that splits and diffracts the impinging light beam into several beams travelling in different directions. The diffracted beams from a grating are commonly called diffraction orders.

Talbot carpet at the transverse plane produced in the diffraction of plane wave from amplitude radial gratings.

We experimentally demonstrate and theoretically predict a new and unprecedented optical carpet that includes all the geometric shadow and far-field and near-field diffraction patterns at the transverse plane in the diffraction from a radial grating illuminated by a plane wavefront. The main feature of using radial grating is the continuous change of the spatial period along the radial direction. Therefore, the geometric shadow, and the near-field and far-field diffraction regimes are mixed at various propagation distances, and the traditional definitions for the different diffraction regimes would not apply here.

Eucalyptus globulus (eucalyptus) treatment of candidiasis in normal and diabetic rats.

Background: The leaves of Eucalyptus globulus (eucalyptus) are used for treatment of diabetes mellitus in traditional medicine. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of eucalyptus in treatment of established systemic infection with Candida albicans in normal and streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats.

Methods: Sixty normoglycemic male Wistar rats, weighing 200-250 g, were selected and randomly divided into six groups (n= 10): normal control, control + C.

Spontaneous unilateral dizygotic twin tubal pregnancy.

Spontaneous dizygotic unilateral twin tubal pregnancy is an extremely rare occurrence with a high risk for pregnancy-related mortality, and a diagnostic challenge for obstetricians. We present a case of a 27-year-old woman with spontaneous twin tubal pregnancy. Transvaginal color Doppler sonography revealed 2 separate gestational sacs within the right adnexa, each containing an embryo.
